Rediscover Christmas with Children's Christmas Books
I love a traditional Christmas that stays on message, don't you?
Let's take a look at how you and the family can rediscover Christmas with Children's Christmas Books. The Christmas message need not be serious and children will enjoy these books.
So what is Christmas about? For some, it is the season of the gimmes. gimme toys, electronic gadgets, gift certificates. That's not the real meaning of Christmas. It's not about the parties or the sharing of tasty meals, either.
All the holiday gift giving, all the parties, all of the shiny decorations can take over the meaning of Christmas and it can get swallowed up. Christmas books can help remind you of what it’s really all about.
The simple Christmas gatherings of yesteryear have turned into one stress after another until you can feel like you’re stuck in a maze. With the hustle and bustle of everything going on, getting off track and lost in the maze of focusing on material stuff happens.
But it doesn’t have to stay that way. You can get back on track and have the true meaning of Christmas foremost in your holiday celebrations.

The Shepherd's Farewell
A gorgeous musical landscape to retell the Christmas story.
The music of the Shepherds' Farewell is harmonically lush and for me the key changes have an amazing effect that is capable of transporting me back in time to the birth of Jesus. This music is very special.
The Shepherds’ Farewell (from L’Enfance du Christ Op. 25) by Hector Berlioz
Thou must leave Thy lowly dwelling,
The humble crib, the stable bare.
Babe, all mortal babes excelling,
Content our earthly lot to share.
Loving father, Loving mother,
Shelter Thee with tender care!
Blessed Jesus, we implore Thee
With humble love and holy fear.
In the land that lies before Thee,
Forget not us who linger here!
May the shepherd’s lowly calling,
Ever to Thy heart be dear!
Blest are ye beyond all measure,
Thou happy father, mother mild!
Guard ye well your heav’nly treasure,
The Prince of Peace, The Holy Child!
God go with you, God protect you,
Guide you safely through the wild!

The Meaning of Christmas - Children's Christmas Books
Before becoming a full time music instructor I worked as a classroom music teacher. It has to be said that the school expected us to deliver in terms of a Christmas Carol concert. Unfortunately the idea behind Christmas has been dropped. It was common to observe lessons and during a lesson where I was being observed a child asked about one of the carols and what it meant. I explained and afterwards was criticized for being "too Christian biased". I find this attitude so stupid.
The Christmas Cookie
Once upon a time when people were all much less affluent than they are today many families kept pennies in the cookie jar to save up for Christmas treats. A little boy, Jack, is drawn by the smell of baking cookies to his mother's side in the kitchen where he helps her roll out the cookie dough. At first he is disappointed to learn the cookies are not for him, but for poor people, then his mother tells him the story of the Christmas cookie...
We often see snowflakes on our Christmas cards, but what is the meaning of the snowflake?
