Crazy Party For Artists & Their Whackadoo Friends
Artists used to share their work at salons. Not beauty salons, no the dictionary describes the ones I am talking about as...
1)It is a time of encouraging one another.
2) A time to feel compelled to do better with your own art.. as there will "always" be better artists than you... I don't care how good you are.
3) A time to share and get feedback.
4) A time to find inspiration.
5) A time to.... PARTY!!!
OK all you crazy go nuts, whackadoo artists.. HAVE A SALON PARTY THAT ROCKS THE HOUSE DOWN!
I've had a few artist salons but have decided to improve on them and take them into full expression
Come on.. you know you want to! Have a party with intellectuals or other eminent people at the invitation of a celebrity or socialite of a different sort. We artists are not taken from the same mold as most people so lets embrace that and be wild, be anti-normal
Hey, how about a reception room in a large house!
historical a regular social gathering of eminent people (esp. writers and artists) at the house of a woman prominent in high society.
How about a meeting of intellectuals or other eminent people at the invitation of a celebrity or socialite.
Salon... an annual exhibition of the work of living artists held by the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture in Paris, originally in the Salon d'Apollon in the Louvre in 1667.
TURN ON THE MUSIC ~LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!
OK.. ya gotta dress up and maybe wear masks to take away any inhibitions your party animal friends might have. Some friends it is a given really don't need masks as they are beyond whackadoo all the time anyway and need no props. Be sure to invite plenty of those people..lol.
My Poem: I Want To Go to a Party
Dragon Drawings-Tattoo Galleries-Fairy Tattoos- I Want To Go to a Party
I feel jealous of the dragon
I hold my dragon drawings
I want to breathe his power
I want to yell sometimes
I think maybe I will take me out of this box
build me back
start to find that spark.
I want to go to parties
dress up like a jester
wear a mask of feathers
let the fire flow
let my dance fight for me.
I am tired
of being tired
I am slow to see it
and the tinges of sadness
golden cages I cannot open
never or ever.
I wish I was a dragon
I wish I was that strong
I wish that I could yell my stories
make them real
fold up all the trees
as beautiful as they are
they block my view
I want to see a bigger story.
I want to go to parties
scream out songs
wear nothing at all
maybe just a ruby on my cheek.
I want to go to a tattoo gallery
count their fairy tattoos
on other people, maybe me
I want to fly free
and not care about anything at all.
I want to drink till I cannot stand
cut the ribbon in the hallway.
I keep secrets
so do you so do not act so proud
who do you think you are?
I think the train is coming
I hear it rushing toward me.
I will stand in front of it
till that last moment
then calmly step away
just like before.
I do not need your directions.
I missed out
it comes down to that
I want to go to parties.
I want a tattoo
maybe a fairy
maybe a star
maybe a tribal tattoo
I want to go to a tattoo gallery.
Of course there are good days
filled with natures gifts.
I did not and do not miss that.
Quit telling me.
I am tired of hearing explanations
I am tired of know it all people
I am tired of me being one
I want to go to a party.
I want to be wild.
I feel jealous of the dragon
and so do you.
I do not care that you won't admit it.
I don't believe you.
Just down the hallway
there you are
just as I thought
counting the days
and all your pennies.

What will we do?
SALONS and what to do with artists at them
First off EVERYONE MUST DRESS UP.
SECOND Ask EVERYONE to bring something artistic
They might feel shy at first but we can get out there, be crazy if we need to and it is GOOD for us to!
3) Some craft they made
7) Tell a couple jokes
8 Some kind of project even if it is not done... anything! They have to bring something to share with the whole group. Yes they will be center stage for 5-15 min max. Ya need to set a time limit for the windy whackadoos.
Of old... Wikipedia describes salons as "A salon is a gathering of people under the roof of an inspiring host, held partly to amuse one another and partly to refine taste and increase their knowledge of the participants through conversation. These gatherings often consciously followed Horace's definition of the aims of poetry, "either to please or to educate" ("aut delectare aut prodesse est"). Salons, commonly associated with French literary and philosophical movements of the 17th and 18th centuries, were carried on until quite recently, in urban settings, among like-minded people."
FOURTH: Lots of nummy food and booze if you drink.
My HAIR.. What will I do with my hair?
What will I do with my hair? ....!!!

Will there be FOOD?
Salami-pops are simply breadsticks wrapped with cheese, spinach and salami. This creative salami appetizer recipe is perfect for any occasion where you need an easy and inexpensive bite.
A personal suggestion.. the bread sticks might get soggy if made ahead of time so you could also try using chopsticks or wooden skewers.
