Cute Infant and Toddler Animal Halloween Costumes

Updated on January 31, 2015

Infants and Toddlers Make Adorable Halloween Animals

There are few things cuter at Halloween than an infant or a toddler dressed up for the holiday. My personal favorite is when they wear cute animal costumes. It's simply adorable.

My nephew wore a cute cow costume for his first Halloween. He was almost a year old at the time, so he was beginning to make some basic decisions. Once he saw his costume, he wanted to wear it even before Halloween. He really loved it and thought it was a lot of fun to dress up in. He only went to the houses right around his house and probably only had ten pieces of candy at the end of the night, but he had a blast.

If you have an infant or toddler, think about dressing them up as a cute animal for Halloween. They have year when they're older to dress up as something scary. Take advantage of when they still want to be cute while you can.

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

Just like Dorthy in The Wizard of Oz, you could see lions and tigers and bears. Well, probably just one of them, unless you have more than one little one to buy for. These animals make some of the cutest costumes for infants and toddlers because they're such fierce creatures and your baby is so innocent. At least most of the time, right? Lions and tigers and bears are so big and furry, it's hard not to want to cuddle up to them if it wasn't for their predatory nature. If you dress up your infant or toddler as one for Halloween, you can cuddle these furry creatures all you want.

How Young is too Young?

It's common to hear people complaining about older kids trick-or-treating. People who stay home and hand out candy usually like to see younger kids enjoying the tradition. It's hard to argue about how cute it is to see a young child toddling up to a door in a cute (or scary) costume. I've seen a few kids who aren't even quite sure what to do because they're shy. But, the question is, how young is too young to start trick or treating? Babies certainly don't know that they're missing anything if they stay home and probably shouldn't eat candy, anyway. But, they still have fun going to a few houses with their parents, and it's certainly cute for the adults who get to see them all dressed up for the holiday. What are your thoughts?

Cute Farm Animal Costumes

As I said, my nephew dressed up as a cow for his first Halloween. His father grew up on a farm, so it was great for them to choose a farm animal costume. My nephew just loved his cow costume and thought it was the best of any of his clothes. A few times, he even dressed up in it just around the house.

One of the great things about choosing a farm animal Halloween costume for your infant or toddler is that you can use it to teach them about an animal they might see a lot. Even if you don't live in the country, farm animals are common in books or movies, so it's important for your little one to understand what they are. And what's cuter than a miniature farm animal crawling around your floor Halloween night?

Should Infants Trick or Treat?

Now's your chance to share your thoughts about infants trick or treating. Maybe you think they're too young and only school aged kids should participate, or maybe you love the idea. Maybe you think it's cute for infants to dress up for the holiday, but they should stay home and "help" hand out candy to older kids. Let me know here. You don't need an account...anyone can comment.

Adorable Bug Costumes for Babies

Whether it's a bumblebee, a ladybug, a butterfly, or any other bug, any baby dressed up as a bug is super cute. One big advantage to choosing a cute bug costume for your infant or toddler is it can help teach them that bugs aren't bad. They can begin to see bugs as something harmless or even something cute and it might help curb any growing fears they have, especially if they're a little older.

Did you find a cute animal costume for your infant or toddler? Do you have any you think I should add? Let me know what you thought here.
