    Hi PhoenixV

On Thursday, I went to an Easter Bonnet parade with my 5 year old at her school and afterwards, parents were invited back to the school room to participate in Easter activities. We did some wonderful activities in the classroom which can also be done at home.

Making an Easter bonnet out of some colored cardboard and other art accessories like glitter, miniature pom poms, paint, cotton ball and anything else you can think to add is fun.  Prior to the Easter parade I was lucky enough to join my daughter the day before to help finish putting her hat together.  She also wanted to stick on tiny ornaments like a baby chicken, fence, some leaves and flowers.

We completed four activities with children.
    1. We helped the children to make bunny rabbit ears.  We helped them cut the shapes out of cardboard, made a cardboard headband to stick them onto and then glue on cotton wool to fluff up the ears.

    2. We helped the children make a delicious snack.  We used a plain milk biscuit on the bottom, smothered it with thick cream over which they sprinkled hundreds and  thousands and sliced up soft lollies like bananas and jubes. We then had the pleasure of watching them be consumed.

    3. For a drawing activity the children cut out the shape of an easter egg and could then choose to colour it with pencils, crayon or felt pens, or a combination of the three.

    4. As a painting activity, the children painted in the pre-printed shape of an easter egg using lots of easter colors.

Aside from these activities there is always the traditional easter egg hunt which in Australia we do on Sunday.  You could also boil eggs and when they are cooled dye or paint them.
