Funny Costumes For Couples

If you are part of a couple and looking for costume ideas for Halloween or an upcoming costume party, have you thought about dressing up as a funny twosome? Below I present 10 of my favorite funny couples costumes. Most of these ensembles come as a complete set, but some of them are my own ideas that I put together from individual costumes that seemed to belong together.

This cheery get-up is inspired by the most classic of pairings: salt and pepper. It not only makes a great costume for couples, but it is also perfect for twins. Both the salt and pepper shaker outfits look best with black pants and shoes, with black/white long sleeved turtlenecks as shown here (sold separately).

Here is another funny couples costume idea: go as Coke and Diet Coke. I like Coke a lot (and also Diet Coke, but to a lesser extent), and when I want to cut back on sugar but don't want to drink all diet soda, I sometimes mix the two together - as I did with the two costumes shown below.

Next time you pass by a vending machine, pick yourself up a Diet Coke can costume. This is the original version with caffeine and no additional flavorings such as cherry, vanilla, etc.

Is the correct spelling "catsup" or "ketchup"? I think they're both equally correct, but whichever spelling you prefer, you and your partner will definitely turn heads showing up as these all-time favorite condiments. With this costume set, the gal goes as the mustard, and the guy as the ketchup. Both costumes have the classic Heinz logo printed on the front.

This year, show up at your next Halloween shindig as everybody's favorite breakfast - minus the fat and cholesterol. Better yet, you and one of your co-workers can wear this ultra casual get-up at your office's next Casual Friday (if you dare!).

I admit it. I am a longtime fan of "I Love Lucy," having grown up watching countless reruns of this classic show. One of its main attractions is, of course, the loveable and zany Lucy Ricardo paired with her hot-blooded and equally zany husband, Ricky. TV's all-time wackiest couple makes the perfect costume if you are looking for something funny and original for your next Halloween shindig.

This Ricky Ricardo costume is quite a find, and when I stumbled upon it at amazon.com, it seemed to be crying out for a matching Lucy costume (see below).

This Halloween, go as Ricky Ricardo's crazy scarlet-haired wife with this popular costume that really capture the essence of this iconic and beloved TV character.

In the 1994 comedy, "Dumb And Dumber," starring Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels and Lauren Holly, two hapless friends - Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne - make a cross country journey to start a new life and also to try to return a briefcase left behind by a woman, Mary Swanson, who was a passenger of the limo that Lloyd drives for his job. As the bobble-headed duo head to Aspen where Mary resides (and with whom Lloyd had fallen in love at first sight), they get into one hilarious scrape after another.

The two neon-colored tuxes shown below are from the scene in which Harry and Lloyd are attending a charity dinner event at which Mary is also among those present.

Believe it or not, this is the get-up worn by Lloyd Christmas to the charity dinner to try to impress Mary Swanson. One amazon.com reviewer reported not using the hat but, instead, styled his hair to look like that of the Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey) character. Another reviewer and his brother wore the orange and blue (shown below) tuxes to a Halloween party and won for funniest costume!

This is the outfit worn by Harry Dunne to that charity dinner. Harry and his goofy friend Lloyd are quite a sight for sore eyes, and you will be, too, when you and your partner pair this tux with the bright orange one shown above.

When browsing through funny costumes at amazon.com, I stumbled across a Marilyn Monroe costume for guys (see below) and got this crazy idea for a couples costume in which both parties are dressed as the fabulously beautiful movie star. If you are looking for something "different" for your next Halloween party, I think people will definitely do a double take when you both show up dressed as this famous Hollywood icon.
