Fun and Games at Easter Time.

Updated on July 20, 2012

It´s Easter time again.

and Spring is in the air,

and eggs will soon be painted,

and there´ll be ribbons in girls´hair.

Or maybe Easter Bonnets,

With coloured, flowery bows,

and posies of fresh flowers,

the choice is yours. Who knows?

It´s Easter time again

and rabbits will abound,

and births, of baby lambs,

will fill the fields with sounds,

Sounds of expectaion

of new life once again

leaping, lively lambs,

playing just the same.

The same as every year,

As Easter comes around,

and children get excited,

when chocolate eggs abound.

On the White House lawn,

Easter eggs, they´ll hunt,

and happy when they find them,

run quickly to the front.

To meet important people,

The President and Lady wife,

but spare a thought for one who died,

that we may have a life.!

A life more precious than we´ve known,

An earth of Paradise,

When Christ is sitting on his throne,

blessing all our earthly life.

A little thought for Christ, our King,

is not too much to ask,

amongst the gaiety of Easter,

Spring flowers, chocolate and laughs.

This is a very pretty poem, and clever to gently lead the reader to the real meaning of Easter.

This year I had a lovely surprise on Easter Day - Wonderful Husband and I were walking to church when I got a text message from our (grown up) son to say "we're in the church" - and we arrived to find the whole family (including step-grandchild) squeezed into a pew with space left for us.

Afterwards we went for hamburgers - so a bit of balance for the younger members of the family. Rather like your poem -balanced.
