I Think the Greatest Christmas Movies Are the Comedies - Holiday Entertainment

Updated on July 29, 2022

My Favorite Holiday Entertainment

Some of the greatest Christmas movies are comedies and are great holiday gift ideas. What could be more fun than Chevy Chase in the classic holiday comedy? I first saw this one in the theater and could not stop laughing many years ago. Every time I watch it, I see things I forgot about, and the laughter begins again.

The holiday season is usually filled with a lot of stress for most people. I am one of them and one of the best holiday comedies always brings down my stress levels. Who doesn't like to watch the Grinch? People of all ages enjoy being entertained. I know I have watched this show since it first came out. I saw the Jim Carey version several times. He does a tremendous job being the Grinch. No matter how often I watch these comedies, they still tickle me into laughter.

We like to get together during the holidays with some hot cocoa and fresh popcorn and settle down to some funny DVDs. The grandkids want to spend the night on air mattresses in the living room. Of course, they stay up most of the night laughing and giggling. My husband usually goes out there and gives the "the talk," so they think they're getting away with something. We always have pancakes for breakfast and more hot cocoa in the morning. I know they love having our particular time together, and we like the unique tradition we created with them.

The best Christmas comedies we watch make us laugh and think about the holiday season. They have a theme that is so impossible that it's funny. I smile when I think about Tim Allen and his holiday comedies. The 3 Santa Clause series and The Kranks are hilarious. Then there are others like Elf and just too many others to name. The greatest ones always end on a happy note with a lovable storyline where the true meaning of the holiday always prevails. They make good holiday gift ideas for people of any age.

NATIONAL LAMPOON'S CHRISTMAS VACATION The movie with a squirrel in the Christmas tree and a house full of nuts. Traditions are disasters waiting to happen in this lively laughfest. It's a Griswold family holiday ¿ deal with it! Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo, Randy Quaid. A CHRISTMAS STORY All Ralphie wants for Christmas is a Red Ryder BB-Gun. How he goes about getting, it is the focus of a comedy treasure that's both a yuletide tale and a warm look at 1940s Americana. Peter Billingsley, Darren McGavin, Melinda Dillon. ELF He was an orphaned infant who slipped into Santa's sack one Christmas Eve and was raised as an elf at the North Pole. Only he isn't an elf, and now sunny, human Buddy comes to the cynical Big Apple to find his birth father. Will Ferrell, James Caan, Zooey Deschanel.

Christmas Vacation

I enjoy this film has all of the components of a classic holiday film. It is comical, light-hearted, and has an unbelievable storyline. If you have not seen this film yet, I suggest you mark down the title and watch it even if it isn't Christmas.

"National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation," the third in the sequel, envelopes a slight change in the usual. Instead of the Griswolds heading on holiday, their family takes breaks to visit them during the holiday season. Consequently, by Christmas Eve, the Griswold home is shaking with the pent-up tensions and bitterness of two in-laws, a crazy uncle, an aunt, and a country cousin who seems to have traveled in his camper directly from Dogpatch.

If you enjoy belly-laughing comedy and unbelievable situations, this is the moving you need to watch

National Lampoon Presents Christmas Vacation

Elf

Elf is a cute movie with a full-grown elf from Santa's workshop. He traveled to New York to find his biological father, a wealthy businessman. Buddy soon discovers what life with Walter is really like. Through a drama of mishaps and misunderstanding soon discovers Walter's thoughtlessness toward him.

Humorous scenes and comical situations continue until Walter comes to his senses one day and apologizes to Buddy for his negligence. This is a charming Christmas tale and should become a Christmas tradition if it already hasn't made its way into your home.
