Non-Scary Halloween Theme Movies

Halloween has a flavor all its own. Most people, though, think that flavor needs to be in the horror movie genre. I don't. For those people out there who like movies but who, like me, don't like horror, here are some suggestions for Halloween themed movies that prove you don't have to be a horror movie to be good for Halloween.

(I, personally, don't like the Steven King style or Wes Craven type of movie, so my movie choices lean away from the "screamers")

You Don't Have to Be Scary to Be a Halloween Themed Movie

A lot of people like scary movies. But when you're choosing a movie for Halloween, sometimes you have to consider what is appropriate for children. There are plenty of Halloween themed movies that are entertaining without being overly scary.

The Wizard of Oz is a classic and Halloween is a great time for watching it.

Choose your favorite.

I have always been a fan of Charles Addams. I found his "joie de mort" amusing and enjoyable. I was first introduced ti his unique gallows humor when I was very young -- my grandfather had one of his books. When I found out his cartoons were in the 'New Yorker' magazine, I started thumbing through the magazines until I found his cartoons.

"The Addams Family" TV show and movie series were based on his cartoons. I have always loved them, too. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
