Go Green With Halloween Solar Lights and Decorations

Updated on October 15, 2013

Halloween Solar Powered Lights - Earth-friendly and easy to use!

Outdoor solar lights for Halloween are convenient, easy to use and earth-friendly.

Light up your home and garden without being concerned about extension cords, over-crowded outlets or remote power-sources. You no longer need to worry about tripping over extension cords or keeping lights and decorations close to a power outlet. Now you can decorate in even the most remote locations. Solar lights use photovoltaic cells to charge the batteries that power the LED lights after the sun goes down. The lights include a sensor that automatically turns the lights on after dark.

The only important thing to remember is that the photovoltaic cell must be placed in the sunlight for at least 6 hours each day to charge the batteries to power the light. Some lights have a separate solar panel that may be placed in the sun a few feet from the lights and with others the panel and light are combined.

For the lights that have the solar panel and light combined, you can place the light in the sun during the day to absorb the sunlight and move them to another area after the batteries have recharged. Solar lighting is often not as bright as traditional lights which creates the perfect spooky atmosphere for Halloween. On this page I have included some of my favorite Halloween solar lights.

Solar Halloween Pumpkin Light - Welcome Your Halloween Trick-or-Treaters

I like to welcome guests and trick-or-treaters with this three-tiered solar-powered pumpkin. They resemble Japanese paper lanterns and look great hanging in an entry, under a porch or from a tree.

I like using these tombstones, skulls and skeletons to make a haunted cemetery in my front yard. The solar powered lights give it just the right creepy touch and it is especially helpful to have decorations that do not need extension cords.

Although not specifically sold as Halloween decorations, these string lights with hand crafted glass globes made a beautiful seasonal display and can be used during the rest of the year, too.

Crystal Balls to Illuminate - Great with a Halloween Witch or Wizard theme!

I like using these clear glass globes to accent a witch or wizard theme. These solar string lights look like crystal balls. They cast a little brighter light that still works well with a Halloween theme.

Solar Owl Lights - Light up the Night with an Owl!

This owl can be added to a haunted cemetery or if you are looking for decorations that are less frightening, but still have a Halloween theme, this solar owl light is a real HOOT!

It is a great addition to your Halloween lighting and can be used year round. During the day they enhance any setting and by night, the solar-powered glow adds the perfect ambiance. They can help light walkways and other outdoor features.
