Halloween Table Decorations and Setting-Creepy and Elegant For Halloween
Decorating for the Holiday With Beautiful Decor
Halloween Table Decorations and Table Setting-Creepy and Elegant. Holiday decorating and design have always intrigued me to do my very best to design a table setting for everyone to enjoy. Every child and adult looks forward to the day they can dress in a fancy costume, eat candy, and witness the Holiday décor displayed for their delight. Making a table setting for Halloween is a tradition I started when my children were young and was a way to enjoy the holiday throughout October. Since I have a daughter with a birthday a couple of days before the holiday, I always begin thinking about my decorations during the summer months.
Fall holidays in my home have evolved from childlike displays to amuse my children to a more elegant theme over the years. So I searched for the perfect table setting for this year's events. My youngest daughter has a three-year-old daughter and bakes for this special event. She is a master baker and decorator of cupcakes, complete with a tier display stand for my table. They add to my table setting and are delicious treats we all love.
The first step for me is to decide which tablecloth style to choose. Sometimes I purchase ready-made tablecloths, while other times, I make them from fabric to coordinate with my theme. Either way, they are an essential part of my Halloween table, and I like to begin with them to determine my coordinating tableware. Next, I need to decide if I should use something I already have or choose new pieces to delight the children in our family. For example, candles are always an important choice. Last year, after the holiday, I purchased some lovely silver ones coated with glitter. I think they would be perfect this year since my theme is elegant and creepy.
I have chosen the Midnight Lace tablecloth below to begin my design, and for an accent, I will use blood-red cloth napkins. I will use my good silverware for each place setting and find some elegant black dinnerware I will be able to use again. I keep all my decorations in a large covered tub, storing the linens at the top and the bottom of the container to protect the glasses and plates from breakage. I usually wrap each piece of stemware in one of my cloth napkins and layer napkins between the dishes. Each of my holiday table settings gets the same treatment, and then I store it in the attic, clearly marking the boxes with the holiday.

Let Us Invite You to Our Home - WELCOME!
My son-in-law James will be our host this evening; he welcomes you to come to see our elegant and spooky decorations. So you can see we go all out on holiday. Everyone at our house dresses in their favorite costumes, and everything is weird and creepy at our home.
When it comes to James, he keeps the natural character of his costume and portrays himself just like he looks. The older children will join in, and since this year them is elegant and spooky, I anticipate a few real characters. One of my older grandchildren, Evan, is into theater and drama, so expect to see some great costumes as well.
We will also be playing games at our party. I will be making them, and one of the things we always do is have a piñata hanging in the garage to distribute the candy. This year will be a giant bat with wings. I always hate to see my artwork torn apart, but the kids have such a good time it's not too bad. One of the games is to pin the poison apple to the witch's hand. She will hang off the door, and everyone will take a turn trying to put the apple in the correct place wearing a blindfold. As a teacher, I have always made games for the kids.
This year looks like one of the best years in a long time. We will indeed have a wonderful celebration with seven grandchildren and their parents.

Creepy
This Halloween bowl fits great with my theme. It is from Amazon, and you can click on the photo to purchase one. I loved it the moment I saw it. My spooky design gets a little more creepy when I serve snacks and appetizers from it. My grandchildren think it's so cool that Grandmama decorates the entire house for the holiday. They love to come over for dinner, and in October, it's all about Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
My dog Scooter is the Official greeter at the door; he dresses in his vampire attire each year to amuse the children. The local children in our neighborhood also enjoy my decorations, and I always ask them to come to look at them. It's all about the kids and us big kids too. The holiday is fun for everyone.
I admit I get a real kick out of decorating for the holiday, but Fall is my favorite. This year's menu will include traditional beverages such as blood punch (tomato juice), finger sandwiches, brain soup (cauliflower soup), scab salad (cranberry topped salad), and gut casserole (spaghetti). Then, my daughter's home-baked cupcake for dessert with monster milk (milk) in my black glassware.
