Fascination with Haunted Trees

How many movies have you watched where the trees are haunted?

Have you thought of wearing a haunted tree costume for Halloween?

There is a fascination with trees. Many movies and cartoons are made where the trees become alive. The majority of the time the trees are haunted and evil. There is something mysterious about a tree with weeping branches in the darkness of night. Will this tree become alive and reach out to grab you?

Be one with the haunted trees with these products located throughout.

The Enchanted Forest

We have seen movies of an enchanted forest. The trees in this forest have a sense of fascination, captivating and bewitching. In an enchanted forest, the trees are not always haunted, but magical.

There is a certain appeal to the forest that brings us in. We are allured deeper and deeper until we become lost.

The enchanted forest can be different then a haunted forest. The trees are not evil, but there is a magnetic charm they have that leads us deeper into the unknown where evil may lurk.

This Halloween, dressing up in a costume as a haunted tree would be scary. Though if I do not want to scare the children so much, a t-shirt with a haunted tree face will be enough.

Complete the look with the Angry Face Tree Hat.

Going with the causal costume look with a simple t-shirt of an angry tree face is not complete without the matching hat.

(Matching t-shirt is shown in the intro with a link to the Angry Face T-Shirt).

If you have a job that allows for casual dress, an angry tree shirt and hat would be ideal to wear on Halloween day. Then you can continue wearing it when greeting the trick-or-treaters.

Haunting or Enchanting Tree

The Weeping Willow Tree - Enchanting or Haunting

Weeping Willow - Bloedel Reserve - WA Photo Paper by TravelDestinations on Zazzle

As a child, I remember our neighbor's huge weeping willow tree in their front yard that seemed to take on an eerie look in the night light. It was haunting and seemed to take on a life of its own. Visiting my childhood friend that lived there, I could see myself being swept up in the tree and being held captive. Then somehow melt into the tree as many other children could have done before me. I seem to recall making sure that there was some distance between me and the branches of the weeping willow. There was no way that I would allow the opportunity for the branches which I imagined could become arms reaching out for me.

During the day, this same weeping willow tree did not seem haunting at all. To me, I found it enchanting. Magical and yet a lonely tree with the branches hanging down towards the ground in a type of sadness, looking somewhat like a giant umbrella. Perhaps the sadness came from being the only tree that looked like this around the neighborhood.

I had a fascination for this tree. I found it beautiful and charming, magical and haunting, which changed depending on if it were day or night.

There is only two movie that I know of with a haunting or enchanted weeping willow. That is in the The Lord of the Rings called the Old Man Willow. The other one is in Harry Potter. You may know other movies with the weeping willow.

Evil trees and haunted forests exist in the movies. Do they exist in real life?

Haunting Tree Movies

Horror at its best

The Brothers Grimm DVD

The Brothers Grimm (2005)

Based on the Grimm fairy tales with a twist in this comedy and horror movie, starring Petr Ratimec, Matt Damon, Heath Ledger.

This is a movie about traveling con artist.

They come upon a town where there is a real enchanted forest. The children in the forest end up missing. The con artist must save the children.

In the end the brother's become the heroes.

I seen this movie and found it very entertaining. I could watch it over and over.

Sleepy Hollow 1999 Movie

Sleepy Hollow (1999)

There many versions of Sleepy Hollow. This is my favorite version

This one is directed by Tim Burton and stars Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci.

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is about the ghost that is called the Headless Horseman and how he beheads his pray. He keeps his trophies of head in the trunk of a tree. Because of this fact, the tree is haunted.

I would recommend seeing this version of Sleepy Hollow.

We do have the DVD handy come join us. Bring the popcorn

The Evil Dead (Ultimate Edition)
The Evil Dead (Ultimate Edition)

The Evil Dead (Ultimate Movie Edition)

In the Evil Dead, the evil tree attacks with a vengeance.

A classic horror film made in 1981.

This movie will keep you on your seat screaming until the next scene.

Evil spirits and demons are unleashed on a group of college students.

This may seem like a common theme, but you haven't seen a horror film so horrifying.

Made as a low budget movie, but not budge on entertainment.

Poltergeist
Poltergeist

Poltergeist [Blu-ray] and DVD

One of the scariest scenes in the Poltergeist is when the tree comes crashing through the window.

The children are screaming and the parents come rushing in the children's room.

Then as the parents run towards the window, the tree moves itself back outside.

What would have happened if the parents didn't make it in time?

This was one of the most heart pounding of all the scenes.

It really makes one this about the evil that exist.

Lord of the Rings trilogy movies
Lord of the Rings trilogy movies

The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy (The Fellowship of the Ring / The Two Towers / The Return of the King Extende

Enjoy the trilogy of the Lord of the Rings movies. The unique collection of the trilogy on Blu-Ray, will be a classic years from now.

Not necessary called a horror movie, but does have some graphic frightening scenes.

One of the most scariest scenes in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers movie has a scene with the battling trees.

These trees are alive!

See the tree people come to life with these realist faces for your tree. Wouldn't it be a site to see a face on every tree in your neighborhood?

During the day it would look amazing, but at night it would be eerie and frightening. Could may wonder if the trees would start walking towards you.

Below are the other faces to add on your favorite tree.

When going for a walk one of our neighbors a couple of blocks away has one of these amazing faces on their tree which is by the sidewalk. I always enjoy seeing this face which seems to follow me as I go by. This face is on there year round.

The only thing that I don't like seeing on this tree is the 8x10 photos of their children, which placed on the other side of the tree. Why don't I like this on the tree?

I would never place a photo of my own child for any non-honorable person to see. I would worry about my own child's safety.

Besides the photos, I really like the face on the tree.

Sandy, you have put a lot of time and talent into building this webpage. I love the faces on trees and might get creative someday and put faces on some of the trees in the yard. It would be fun! I might even do that to trees in the woods along my trails I have been grooming.

Its true that some trees have a spooky look to them. Its no wonder they make great dramatic props in movies.

Those haunted trees are freaky. I wouldn't want to run into one at night (or even during the day). Fun lens.
