Bazinga! So, you want to dress like your favorite theoretical physicist, Sheldon Cooper, from The Big Bang Theory? Of course you do!

Here are some ideas to help you put together the perfect Sheldon Cooper costume, whether it's for Halloween, or just to wear around the lab.

Step One: Choose a Shirt!

Sheldon Cooper loves his T-shirts, whether they feature comic book logos or quirky science-related humor. So the first step to putting together a Sheldon look is to choose a tee! We've seen him wear Green Lantern, Flash, geometric prints, and other superhero and nerdy designs. To be recognized as Sheldon, you can't go wrong with the Green Lantern logo or the Flash lightning bolt.

One of Sheldon's favorite T-shirt designs, the Flash lightning bolt. This shirt, combined with other essentials to the Sheldon look, can really complete your costume.

Step Two: Choose Another Shirt!

Sheldon likes to wear a long-sleeved shirt under his short-sleeved tee. Think of a thermal underwear shirt, henley, or other plain long-sleeved tee. It depends on how warm you want to be. If you'll be outside for Halloween, you might want the thermal fabric. A nice gray color will look fine layered under just about any other T-shirt.

Step Three: Sheldon Pants

Here is what Sheldon prefers: very slim, narrow-leg pants. As for color, Sheldon often wears brown or tan pants, but sometimes he gets colorful or even wears plaid trousers.

If 'ifs' and 'buts' were candy and nuts, we'd all have a Merry Christmas.

Step Four: Sheldon's Shoes

Put on some Vans or other skateboarding shoes or slip-ons, and you're ready to head out to the comic shop with the rest of the crew!

Sheldon Cooper Costume Accessories

Okay, so you have the basics of your Sheldon Cooper costume, now you're ready to add some personal touches. Consider these accessories to complete your look:

  • A messenger bag. This is a practical choice, because you can use it when you're not wearing your Sheldon Cooper costume.
  • A windbreaker
  • A plush cat (Soft Kitty)
  • Glow sticks (essential pieces of Sheldon's emergency plan)
  • A toy train (Sheldon loves trains!)
  • A laptop
  • A headset

My other half is the full sized man version of Sheldon, he'd view this as fashion advice rather than as a costume idea.
