I GOT a Hippopotomus for Christmas, So Now What??!

Updated on April 18, 2014

YES.. You Heard Me Right.. I WANT A HIPPOPOTAMUS CHRISTMAS

Fantasy fairies make for a gorgeous Christmas tree but what about a hippopotamus ? Hummm? I bet you never thought of that before. Just think how CUTE that might be.. a tree featuring the lovely hippopotamus! I don't want my two front teeth, no way i want a hippopotamus and preferably a baby so I can watch it grow. Tee hee.. so fun to think of ya know? Where would you keep it? In your pool? You would have to build a pool if you don't already have one. For now though? Let's just settle for tiny ones on a tree.

I recently watched a story about this guy who had a hippo for a pet that eventually killed him. As it grew older it became more and more dangerous. You know that right? That hippos are very dangerous and aggressive. This whole lens is light fun and meant to be playful. The babies sure are darling though aren't they? I can kind of see how that guy fell in love with his hippo and lost perspective.

I imagine a hippopotamus wearing a tuxedo or a golf shirt. For girl hippos of course I see them in a fluffy pink tutu with pink bows on either ear. Too fun! Isn't it fun to use your imagination and be silly? Yes!

Did I get a hippopotamus for Christmas... some of you have asked, well...

YES I DID... and let me tell you, as much as I wanted one, as cute as the little guy is, he is GROWING and is pretty darn messy. Eeek! I think he will soon be too big for the tub and he refuses to wear a bib while eating and he won't wear any of the cute clothes I got him cause they are all in pink. Oh me, the life of a Hippopotamus owner. I know and you don't have to remind me, that I was warned by many of you. Still and all? Ohh he looks darling in his pink tutu and flower lei.

I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas

WHERE Is Santa Right Now? (a poem)

WHERE Is Santa Right Now, cause I might need him to come back and get my dear hippo.. he is getting BIG!!

"Where Is Santa Right Now? Does Santa Go On Vacation? Or Stay Home At the North Pole? "

Where is Santa right now?

Off for the summer is he?

Does Santa take a holiday?

What does he do when he's not repairing his sled

keeping track of those elves

feeding Rudolf and the rest of the reindeer?

Does he go to Hawaii?

Does he go to the South of France?

Where is Santa NOW?

I want to give him a phone call

Can I?

If I find his number is it Santa himself

who answers?

Does he have an answering service?

Can I email Santa?

And if I do will he be the one who reads my message

or just one of his elves?

Hummm.

If Ol' Saint Nick does go on holiday

Do the elves go too?

Does Mrs. Claus go?

Don't they need some rest as well?

If they do go

who feeds the reindeer?

Hummm.

I just don't know!

It all perplexes me.

Of course Santa must rest

so where is Santa right now?

If Santa goes on a holiday

does he wear his red and white outfit?

What does he wear?

And Mrs. Claus

what does she wear?

If the elves go too

what do they wear?

I am wondering too

wouldn't people notice them all?

Lying in the sun

sipping ice tea?

If they reindeer go

isn't that a huge attraction?

Do people bug them all

and ask for their autographs?

OH! Where is dear Santa right now?

No, I don't think he is in Hawaii

I am not sure why but it just does not sound right

tourists would have said they had seen him there by now.

Santa, the elves and the reindeer surfing?

Humm I don't think so.

The South of France then?

If so, what is he doing there?

Does he eat French food?

Does he go to see the art?

What about the reindeer inside the restaurants?

No, that just cannot be it.

Oh I don't know where Santa could be

except maybe where he always is

The North Pole!

Yup, that is where Santa is now.

Santa and the elves

Mrs. Claus and the reindeer

Rudolf for sure!

Santa is much too busy for a holiday

Humm...

or is he?

Ask any child

perhaps they will know,

"Where is Santa right now?"

For fun.. maybe add a whole zoo of animals

I think a tree of ONLY hippos would be sooo CUTE but it would also be darling to have a zoo tree, that included all kinds of exotic animals. Ohh I can just see it all now adding zoo sounds of Christmas. Humm do you think animals sing Christmas songs after everyone leaves the zoo? Cause I know for SURE that they do in Africa as that is what a hippo told me. Who would doubt the word of a hippo? Not me!
