The 13th Annual National Day of the Cowboy Saturday July 22, 2017
National Day of the American Cowboy is a campaign founded in 2004 by American Cowboy magazine. This event was created as a day meant to celebrate the cowboy's contribution to American heritage, to preserve, protect and promote the cowboy and Western heritage.

Idaho Legislature passes National Day of the Cowboy bill
March 18, 2016 the Idaho Senate approved passage of National Day of the Cowboy bill, HCR038. This makes Idaho the 11th state to ensure permanent recognition for the 4th Saturday in July as a day to celebrate cowboy culture and pioneer heritage.
