  1. Stay in: There is a lot of fun and romantic things you can do around your house. Make sure there are plenty of hors d'oeuvres and drinks, whatever you do!

  2. Host a party together: Instead of going to someone else’s party, host your own so that both of you can invite all of your favorite people.

  3. Go out to eat: Many places will still be open to grab a bite to eat; don’t cheap out! You might even be able to get a front row view to a fireworks display!

  4. Candlelit dinner at home: Whether one of you or both of you make it, this always makes for a good, romantic time!

  5. Open a bottle of Champagne: With a bottle of champagne, anything is possible. Especially after the third bottle... eh, third glass. I meant glass.

  6. Go out for drinks: Plenty of bars stay open for New Year's Eve, and a lot of them have special events going on for the holidays.

  7. Walk the beach: When is this not romantic with a significant other? Also a great time to pop the question if you’ve been planning on it.. (ahem, gentlemen!)

  8. Motorcycle ride: A nice, long, moonlit motorcycle ride would make for a romantic New Year’s Eve idea. Add a few stops at special places for those extra bits of romance.

  9. Bake a cake from scratch: Light a couple of candles and blow them out at the bottom of the countdown.

  10. Go on a cruise: If you have the money, go for it! Wouldn’t it be fun to leave life one year, and return to it the next year?

  11. Meet the families: Ready to step it up? This is a great time to introduce the faimlies to each other! How is this romantic? Well, if the meeting goes well, I’m sure there will be plenty of romance to follow, if you get my drift.

  12. Hit the dance club: Love dancing? Great! Hit a dance club or a few and dance your way into the New Year with each other!

  13. Refer to the bucket list: Everyone has things that they want to do before we die; help each other to knock out one or two of those things on New Year's Eve!

  14. Create a time capsule: Just don’t ever forget where you buried it!

  15. Watch a firework display: Find a more secluded area that will have a prime view so that the two of you can be alone. Don’t forget to bring a blanket!

  16. Make your own firework display: Even if the two of you just run around like kids with sparklers in your hands, just make it a fun time for both of you!

  17. Take a last minute flight to anywhere: Just make sure you are flying over land after the turn of the New Year so that you can watch bunches of firework displays from above; of course, this only works well on a clear night.

  18. Take a midnight train going anywhere: Journey had it right! What better way to kick off the New Year than by exploring a new place with your significant other?

  19. Share your lives by a bonfire: Ready to get on a really personal level? Being along and by a nice fire can really help to spark up some great conversation. Share secrets and dreams with each other in confidence.

  20. Hot massage: Everyone loves massages, so why not spend your New Year's Eve giving each other massages, good ones. Maybe you will “get lucky” after the countdown!

  21. Elope: What could be more romantic than tying the knot? What a way to start the New Year! Want help planning your New Year nuptials? Check out: New Year's Eve Wedding Ideas.

  25. Visit time square: Watch the ball drop in person!

Happy New Year!

Just make sure you stay safe and do not drink and drive. Have a safe, happy New Year!
