Let’s face it, Valentine’s Day is very much more geared toward spoiling us girls, but our fellas need some lovin’ too!

Girls are so easy: A card, some flowers, a box of chocolates, and a giant, fuzzy, cute stuffed anything. For guys, let’s see: Cologne, maybe? Boxers with hearts on them? Why are men so hard to shop for Valentine’s day? They aren’t, really. It definitely helps if you know what your man likes.

If you take a step back, you’ll find that (most) men don’t really have specific expectations for Valentine’s Day than any other day or holiday. In other words, whatever would make them happy any other day, would make them happy on Valentine’s day!

Your Valentine's Day Guide

The Gift - First let's think about what to buy your guy for Valentine's Day! Beyond the many shelves of boxes or chocolate and cute, little teddy bears lies a whole store full of stuff. And beyond that store, lies every other store on the planet, not to mention the internet! Yeah, I'm talking about you, Amazon!

So don't confine your shopping to just those 2 isles of pink and red stuff at Walmart! Get your man something that truly speaks to him, and shows him you spent more time than just grabbing the first thing off the shelf next to you.

The Date - I know it's typically the guy who plans this part of the day, but why not give him a year off and take him out on an amazing Valentine's Day date?

Pick him up from work and take him out to a seaside restaurant followed by walking on the beach, or enjoy dinner and a movie at the drive-in!

The Love - Don't forget to make your man feel loved. Doing something sweet for him or making him something homemade is better than any store-bought gift!

Fill his day with little surprises, like "I love you!" post-it notes all over his stuff, or a homemade Valentine's Day cupcake in his work lunchbox. Even at work, he'll remember how much he loves you too!

Valentine's Gift Ideas

Many guys enjoy receiving gifts just as much as a girl does, but what gifts are good for Valentine’s Day? Well, anything they like!

  • Concert tickets

  • Game tickets

  • A watch

  • Cologne

  • Movie Tickets

  • Video games

  • Computer games/programs

  • Electric razor

  • A framed photo of the two of you

  • CD or an iTunes gift card

Maybe you’re in a new relationship, or you’re with one of those guys who just seems to have everything, then it’s better to play it safe.

If you’re not exactly sure what to get your man, stick with something simple such as a card with a gift card in it: any good restaurant, Best Buy, Netflix subscription, or a manly magazine.
