There isn't much sense opening gifts if you have a mean one on your hands. The best way to sweeten up the grinch is through his stomach. I haven't met a Grinch that Stole Christmas yet that hasn't softened up under the spell of a freshly baked cinnamon bun. Just make sure that you hide some for the rest of the Whos. Grinches don't like to share.

These cinnamon buns are sure to placate even the meanest Grinch. Don't be surprised if his heart doesn't grow a few sizes right in front of your very eyes. The best part about this great gift for grinches is that others can enjoy it as well!
Ingredients
- 1 (1/4 ounce pkg.) of active dry yeast
- 1 tsp. white sugar
- 1/2 cup of warm water
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 beaten eggs
- 4 cups of all-purpose flour (or switch it up with whole wheat)
- 3/4 cups of butter
- 3/4 cups of brown sugar
- 1 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts (divided)*Make sure the grinch isn't allergic. That wouldn't be good.
- 3/4 cups of brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup of melted butter
Instructions
- 1. In a small bowl, dissolve 1 teaspoon sugar and yeast in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes. Warm the milk in a small saucepan until it bubbles, then remove from heat. Mix in 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup butter and salt; stir until melted. Let cool until lukewarm.
- 2. In a large bowl, combine the yeast mixture, milk mixture, eggs and 1 1/2 cup flour; stir well to combine. Stir in the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time. Make sure to beat thoroughly after each 1/2 cup. When the dough has pulled together, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth. Roll up your sleeves and dig in. This might take up to 10 minutes.
- 3. Lightly oil a large bowl, place the dough in the bowl, making sure that all the dough gets coated with some oil. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place until doubled in volume. Check back in about an hour.
- 4. Melt 3/4 cup butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in 3/4 cup brown sugar.. Whisk to a smooth consistency. Pour into greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Sprinkle bottom of pan with 1/2 cup pecans or walnuts; set aside. Melt remaining butter; set aside. Combine remaining 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup pecans, and cinnamon; set aside.
- 5. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, roll into an 18x14 inch rectangle. Brush dough with 2 tbps. melted butter, leaving 1/2 inch border uncovered; sprinkle with brown sugar cinnamon mixture. Starting at long side, tightly roll up, pinching seam to seal. Brush with remaining butter. With serrated or bread knife, cut into 15 pieces; place cut side down, in prepared pan. Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in volume. Make sure to preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- 6. Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool in pan for 3 minutes, then invert onto serving platter. Scrape remaining filling from the pan onto the rolls.
