The Darice 80 Piece Deluxe Art Set-A Gift To Stimulate Creativity

Updated on August 21, 2016

Several Christmas season ago I purchase an 80 piece art set for my grandson Evan. He was overjoyed to receive it and immediately opened it up and began drawing. With color pencils, oil pastels, water paints, color pencils and accessories all in a handy carrying case it made a wonderful gift. He uses it still today whenever he has an art project that needs to be expressed.

I can remember a time when my husband and I went to have dinner at our daughter's home. After every meal at her house she spends time with the kids for sharing. That particular evening the topic of feeling had come up and each of us were given a sheet of paper to draw how we felt that day. Evan brought out his art kit and shared it with use so we could complete our drawings. We all had the opportunity to use whichever medium we wanted to create our feeling picture.

We all had fun sharing our drawing and explaining how we felt and why we felt the way we did. This was a nice evening and I was impressed that the kit was still intact. This is just one of the ways our family spends time together and art is usually part of our evening. We like to stimulate the creativity in the children and help them learn to be artistic. As teacher my husband and I have witnessed first hand the need for children to be inspired by adults. I think this year I will give some of the younger children in our family art kits as a Christmas present.

Even if you think you have not artistic talent some of the simplest projects can become great works of art for your home. Purchase a large canvas, determine the colors you want to use and get started soon. Abstract art is easy to make and can be a great project for a budding artist.

Is creativity stimulated through self art or predetermined design?

Great Accessories to Compliment the Art Set

Art To Stimulate The Brain

Creating art is a wonderful way to use free time. It is up to you what type of art you want to create. It can be something you want to keep and hang in your home or you may want to give it away or sell it. Adult enjoy making art projects and as you can see by some of the photos in the article simple shapes can make beautiful pictures.

Why not invest some time with an art project today? I love to make art and often time use it in my own home for decoration. I also like to give it to relatives and friends. I have thought about selling it online, but have not actually made anything specifically yet. I suppose I will consider doing a project soon and see what happens.

Simple art

Childhood and Art

It is never too early to encourage an interest in art. Children of all ages enjoy creating art projects. It is important for children to learn to use crayons, color pencils and paints since it stimulates the brain and causes it to grow. The more a child experiences art the better they learn math concepts such as shapes, space and color.

You may find a child who prefers to use one color or he may enjoy experimenting with many at one time. The best thing for parents and teachers to do is to allow kids the opportunity to create their art pieces through experimentation. This will help develop a better understanding of how line become art. The first stages of learning are usually scribbles on the page using whatever drawing devices the child may happen to use.

Once the child has begun to draw on there own it is best to let them learn by practice. It is not necessary to guide them to a perfect drawing. Children will learn at their own pace and there is no right or wrong way to draw. The child if allowed to practice frequently will soon learn how to draw simple objects.

See this set in action and how wonderful the product is for someone of any age.

A marvelous kit to encourage creativity in children (or anyone for that matter since I know some grownups who'd love it!) When I was a kid I did a lot of drawing and would have been ecstatic to have received something like this. My creativity took another turn into writing, but it would sure have been fun to have this kit just the same. Excellent lens.

This is an impressive looking art set and I like the suggested books on how to draw to go with it. What a useful way to talk to children - by getting them to draw out their feelings for the day.

I've found that great creativity comes from a contradiction: Random thought within a structured process. And hey, everyone needs a box of colors.

I had a 200 piece set of pastels when I was young and, except for the dust, I loved them. I made a 8foot by 6foot map of middle-earth with them using the map from the LOTR books as my guide. Not sure whatever happened to that map (disappeared when I joined the Marines in 1986), but this kinda makes me want to take it up again.
