The Man bag

Updated on May 11, 2017

Why a 'man bag'

Honestly I have no idea, I originally started this lens as page 2 of The Dad Bag. I thought maybe I could figure something out to make it for guys in general, which I hope has worked. (any suggestions?)

As to what a guy would use a bag for .. I have no idea! Other than Keys & cell phone. There are those that I can understand would have need for something, like those that take train or bus to work so you need to have something but aside from that & the list below I have not a foggy, can any of you men enlighten me on this?

As to Gerard Butler in this picture... The man needs to loosen the should strap a bit! (or well at least in the Right hand pic, it looks higher up to me. I've also seen Sam Worthington in a picture with one as well.

I will include a link to a list of the suggested styles at the end of the article

The Beauty Balm and it's pages are moving!

They will now have their own blog (permanently posted to the pages section of http://zisbeautybalm.wordpress.com/. If you'd like to be a contributor you may contact me with your email address.

Fashionable in three ways

Which is the right one for you

I also have a tip for you, like us ladies with our purses if you are small & carrying around a (bulky) messenger bag it looks more like the bag has you for the luggage. If you are tall or 'big' and use something smaller it will look equally odd. (along the lines of looking like you ahv a cosmetc bag.

If you are tall and lean or average hight & muscular you can pretty much use whatever. Well just not what Hugh Jackman is using below! (I think he raided his wife's purses because that CAN'T be a man bag!)

My opinion (not that it matters) on the man's 'clutch' is a don't unless it's really masculine looking. (Think along the lines of destressed leather, like an old shaving kit or looks like a pilot's jacket.

Man bags - Messenger bags

Does your man work or live in a big city or maybe he's going on a trip? Maybe he uses a briefcase that maybe has a few too many miles on it? (If it's a family heirloom use it to store important papers & try one of these messenger bags)

Great for artists and anyone who works in a big city esp. if they have to take public transportation.

Honestly if its one of the smaller bags below the messenger ones, What DO you guys put in them besides your cell & mobile?

What would you guys use a man bag for?

Cell phone

tablet

laptop (if messenger bag)

electric chargable razor

comb

Keys

business items

(sun) Glasses

Business cards/holder

ipod

mmm What else can guys carry in their 'man bag'

How to wear it

Day packs & Travel

These are the best kind of Shave/travel bag styles to use as a homemade gift basket plus I've seen some guys use it as a 'man bag'

Ever heard of Kipling? The brand that has that little gorilla keychain on it? Well take it from me, the brand is great! The bags are quality nylon, well stiched and even better a heavy duty zipper. with the amount I have stashed in mine over the years (I've had it since the 90's) I think I can say it still looks like new. If it starts to get a bit grungy.. just throw it in the wash! As for styles for guys.. here is a list of styles I found to recommend for you to check out

KIPLING RIDGE MENS BP2004-205

Kipling Hiker Expandable Backpack

-----these I'm not 100% on the style for you guys---
