It's Umbrella Day

There are hundreds of national and international holidays that pass by without much notice one of these holidays is for an invaluable invention that had been around for hundreds, nay maybe thousands of years.

On February 10th we will celebrate Umbrella Day, yes I said Umbrella Day and if you love umbrellas half as much as I do you'll be celebrating with me this February.

This is my umbrella. My mother bought me this umbrella for my birthday from Amazon. It is a two person golf umbrella, that came in bright yellow and a reddish orange.

Umbrellas

To celebrate this day most people just say to always have your umbrella on hand that day or take a walk using your umbrella, but I have a much cooler idea for you.

For your umbrella day, why don't you get yourself an awesome looking umbrella and have a "Who has the best Umbrella Party" You may have to have one of your strange friends who doesn't have an umbrella or at least doesn't have a cool one to judge the contest. Don't forget to decorate with pretty umbrellas and put little umbrellas in your drinks.

You can celebrate this holiday even in sunny weather, there many types of umbrellas for good weather. Patio umbrellas, parasols, and those little drink umbrellas that can be bought at any party supply store.

Drink Umbrellas can be bought at any party supply store, online and in regular stores such as the Dollar Store or Wal-Mart.

I love umbrellas, I like to look at people holding interesting and ones while they walk down a gloomy rained soaked street. The bright color contrasting a grey cloudy sky.

In Regency England they used Umbrellas on good and bad days, it was not fashionable to be too tan. Tanned people mostly worked outside.

Umbrella Days

Umbrellas come in dozens of sizes, colors, shapes, and designs. You can buy flower Umbrellas, beach umbrellas, golf umbrella, compact umbrellas, stick umbrellas and some companies even use umbrellas to advertise themselves to the world. If you don't have an awesome umbrella isn't it time you bought one so you are not the wet blanket in the room.

This is not a umbrella, it is my Chinese paper parasol and might help on a sunny day. but if you got this wet, it would be completely destroyed.

I love umbrellas and the way they look as people walk down the street on a rainy dreary day. Like it even better than having an awesome umbrella.

Sun Umbrellas

Some umbrellas were once the only real defense for skin cancer for young ladies. Also being tan was completely unfashionable for ladies in the past. If a lady was dark or tanned, it meant that they were and had to work in the sun, in the fields.

I wonder if anyone ever stands under this statue to get away from a downpour?

Beach Umbrellas

Beach Umbrellas are still a good way to shield yourself from harmful UV rays. It can also prevent painful sunburns if you should happen to fall asleep in the sun.

And leave those umbrellas at home

Rough and tough and strong and meanGod bless mother nature, she's a single woman too
She took off to heaven and she did what she had to do
