3 Special Valentine's Day Gift Ideas With A Romantic Twist
Technological gadgets, such as laptops and the like, can be a great Valentine's Day gift for your lover. Why? The reason for this is because these kinds of presents can come across as really special to its recipient.
After all, why would you give such a nice and even expensive gift to someone that you don't even love or care about? Of course, you want to be able to give the best gift that you can acquire for your special someone.
You want your chosen item to be as perfect as possible. You want it to be seen as special, meaningful, sincere and thoughtful.
You want it to be able to show your soul mate just how much you love her and just how well you know her.
And this is exactly why, if you are planning to get your wife or girlfriend a gadget for the day of hearts, it is definitely important not to just grab some random gadget, buy it and have it wrapped and then deem it as worthy of being called a present.
It doesn't matter how expensive or how nice the product looks. In the end, it will just seem like you didn't even take the time and effort to think about what kind of gift you're giving to your sweetheart. You also need to consider if the item you've chosen is even the right one for her.
So, what are some of the technological gadgets that you can consider giving to your lover and what are some of the romantic twists that you can put on these items in order to make your gift as meaningful and as special as possible for Valentine's Day?
1. Laptop Computer
Laptops make for useful and practical gifts especially since, nowadays, it seems that pretty much everyone has their own computers, which they make use of for various reasons.
If your spouse or girlfriend has an old laptop that is in need of a new replacement, then you have all the more reason to get her one as a present for Valentine's Day.
Notes and recommendation:
Consider the brand and size of the laptop that you're going to get for your lover. Does she like Asus (like this Asus Transformer Book Chi 12.5-Inch T300CHI-F1-DB Slim All-Aluminum 2 in 1 Detachable Touchscreen Laptop, Core M, 4 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD (you can see the pics in this article)), Toshiba, Lenovo or some other brand?
Would she prefer a smaller or bigger laptop? Does she want a convertible touchscreen ultrabook?
Remember: red might be a good and appropriate color for Valentine's Day, but do not get your soul mate a crimson-colored laptop if she does NOT like this shade.
I recommend this Asus laptop because it's not that expensive and yet it's still packed with so many useful features. It boasts of 128GB SSD and 4GB RAM, giving your lover lots of space to put all sorts of things on her PC like her important files and documents, music, videos, ebooks and so much more.
As you can see, the laptop itself comes with a detachable touchscreen so it's like getting a touchscreen tablet and a laptop for the price of one. How cool is that?
It's not even that heavy, making it pretty easy to lug around especially if your lover is always traveling or on the go.
However, if you don't know for sure what your lover likes or is looking for in a laptop, then do not get her one. Why?
It's because there are so many different kinds and types of laptops out there. They come in varying sizes and brands and specifications and even colors.
People have their own preferences for these things so, if you're not sure what your soul mate will like, then it's better to give her something else as you might end up getting her a computer that she doesn't like and wouldn't want to use no matter how expensive or nice it looks.
Here are some of the things that you should consider if you are planning to buy a laptop for your sweetheart:
What to consider:
With brands like Sony Vaio, Toshiba, HP, Apple and many more, it's definitely important to know which one she likes best especially since the laptops offered by these brands are all different from each other
Is there a laptop that comes in her favorite color? Does she want one in that color or would she prefer the usual black or white ones? Also, do not get her a red-colored laptop if she doesn't like that shade even if it's an appropriate hue for February 14. Remember that she will be using this computer even after the day of hearts
How much RAM does she want? What kind of processor would she like? Does she want Windows or Mac? What about the size of the laptop itself? Would she prefer a bigger or smaller laptop?
Once you've gotten the perfect laptop for your partner, you can get said laptop a case with a design or theme that your soul mate will like. After that, if you want to put a romantic twist to your gift, then do not wrap the items up yet.
Open the laptop that you just obtained and you can then start setting some things up for your lover. You can start installing programs that you know she uses or that you think she will want to have.
For instance, you can already start installing an anti-virus software on the laptop. Every laptop or computer needs a good anti-virus software.
What is the preferred anti-virus of your girlfriend or wife? I recommend the latest version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus to protect both of your PCs from viruses and the like.
I've been using Kaspersky for years and I've never had a problem. There's also a Kaspersky Internet Security, but I prefer using just the Anti-Virus one and think that that's more than enough. It's also cheaper than the Internet Security one.
But it's totally up to you. The Internet Security one has a lot more features than the Anti-Virus one. You might find those features useful or you might think they're too much and you're perfectly okay with just the features of the Anti-Virus one.
You can get Kaspersky Anti-Virus that's good for 1 PC for 1 year, but, if you want to use it on your PC too or if you and your lover have more than 1 computer, you can get the one that's good for 3 or even 5 PCs for 1 year.
If you're already using this anti-virus, you can renew it with a discount. Just be sure to get it from the same place where you bought it. This can be the official Kaspersky store.
If she's an artist, then install Adobe PhotoShop or whichever art program she likes to use. If she's a writer, then install Scrivener for her. Scrivener is a really great program for writers. It's available for Windows and Mac users and has a lot of useful features that can really help writers with writing their novels.
Aside from installing some of the programs that she uses, you can also set up her desktop wallpaper and screensaver.
You can make use of images that depict the 2 of you together for a romantic feel that's perfect for Valentine's Day.
For a finishing touch, why don't you write her a love letter or even just a simple note and save it as a word file on the desktop of her brand new laptop? In this way, she can easily see it after opening her present.
After adding all those twists, you can now turn off the laptop and then put it inside its new case or bag. Wrap everything up and it's now ready to be given to your special someone on Valentine's Day.
2. Music Player
For those with wives or girlfriends that love music, a Valentine's Day gift in the form of a music player is definitely a good choice.
Even if your lover's current music player is not old or broken or in need of a replacement, you can still consider getting her a new one. This is because you can always get her a music player that is different from the one that she currently has.
For example, if she has an older version of a music player, you can get her a newer and more current version with better specifications such as more space to store all of her songs and music.
If she has a music player that only plays songs, you can get her one where she can also view videos and pictures.
If she likes to exercise or bike while listening to music, you can get her a smaller music player that she can easily clip to her clothes or store in her pocket.
Be sure to consider exactly what kind of music player your sweetheart will want to have or what kind will suit her best.
For instance, if you're going to get her an iPod, then think about what she'll prefer to have. Should you get the Classic, Nano, Shuffle, etc? You also need to know how big the music player should be.
The Waterproof Apple iPod Shuffle by AudioFlood with True Short Cord Headphones includes a 2-year warranty.
The above item includes a swim cap, USB charger/sync cable and a bag for your iPod, headphones and goggles.
The battery life lasts up to 15 hours and it's got 2GB of storage, which amounts to about 500 songs or so.
There's also a VoiceOver button, which tells you the song title, playlist name or battery status of your device.
Should you get one that's small enough to fit on the palm of her hand or will she prefer something a bit bigger?
How much space should the music player have? Does she want an extensive collection of music or will she be okay with a music player that only has, say, 16GB?
Again, if she does not like a scarlet hue, don't get her a red-colored music player.
Once you have obtained the music player for your lover, it's time to add the twists that will give a romantic feel to your present and prevent it from being too simple and ordinary.
First, open the item that you just acquired.
Start putting some songs on it so that, when your wife or girlfriend opens her gift, she won't find it empty and she can start listening to her favorite music right away.
Be sure to put songs that your lover wants to hear. If she's an anime fan, then put those kinds of songs on the music player, featuring the opening and ending themes of her favorite shows or series.
If she likes romantic songs, then those are the kinds of songs that you should put in her new music player.
You can also organize the songs that you put in her music player by ensuring that the song title, the artist name and the album name are all correct.
This is especially recommended for those whose soul mates want an organized music library. Aside from adding some of your partner's favorite songs, you can also add some new ones that you think she will want to hear.
For a romantic feel, you can add some love songs that are perfect for the day of hearts. If you're a singer or if you're up to it and you want to, you can also sing a song for her and then add it to the music player.
You don't have to compose the song yourself. You can always just sing your version of your chosen romantic love song. You can also add a dedication or a message of love before or after the song.
In this way, when your lover opens her present and discovers a new music player that already has some songs, she can also see the song that you sang for her and, when she listens to it, she can also hear the message that you recorded for her.
3. E-book Reader
If your lover loves reading books, then an e-book reader is definitely a good choice as a Valentine's Day gift.
There are some who still want real paperback or hardbound books, however, what's wrong with having both a real book and an e-book reader?
There are many cases where an e-book reader would be a great and useful item to have.
For instance, if your partner travels a lot, then she would be better off carrying a single e-book reader (for example, I recommend the Nook Glowlight because of its many useful features such as being light and portable while still being capable of storing up to 2,000 books), which can store a lot of books, as compared to having to lug around several heavy books.
Before getting an e-book reader for your girlfriend or spouse, here are some things that you should consider:
What to consider:
What kind of e-book reader does your partner want? Should you get her the Amazon Kindle or the Nook or some other reader?
Does your soul mate want a simple e-book reader that only lets her read books or would she want one that can let her do other things such as listen to music and watch videos?
How big or small should the e-book reader be? Does she want one with a bigger screen or will she still be able to read books even with a smaller screen?
Once you've gotten her an e-book reader, you should also get her a case for this item.
These cases come in varying colors but, again, get her the color that she likes best. Do not get her red unless it happens to be her favorite color.
After that, it's now time to add some twists to your present to make it even more special and noteworthy.
First, open the e-book reader that you just obtained and start adding some books to it. This way, your girlfriend or wife can start making use of her gift the moment that she opens it.
Put her favorite books, especially those she won't mind reading over and over again, in the reader.
You can also put books that she planned or looked forward to reading but hasn't been able to do so yet for one reason or another.
You can also add some books that you think she will like. You can even add some books from the public domain or those that are being offered for free.
If you're a writer or if you're up to it, you can also write a short story featuring you and your partner or even just a romantic and sweet Valentine's Day story, which you can then add to the e-book reader.
If you prefer, you can always just write her a love letter and then add it inside the e-book reader so that, when your lover opens her new gift, she can see the books that you added as well as the love letter and / or story that you wrote for her.
