Vintage Turkey Platters
Turkey Platters Are Works of Art!
Every year on Thanksgiving families across the country reach to the top shelf in the cabinet, and to the bottom shelf of the hutch, retrieving dinnerware used each year for this specific meal. Every family has these items - the salt & pepper shakers shaped like turkeys, the good silver, and my favorite, the turkey platter.
The turkey is the center of attention on the table, so of course it should get a special platter. Throughout the years many tableware manufacturers have taken the turkey platter and turned it into a work of art.

Ideas for Spreading the Thanksgiving Tradition
For family members who can't come back for Thanksgiving, find them a turkey platter similar to the one you used to use. Send it to them as a gift. It's amazing how something that seems so trivial can make you feel at home. (Like this)
Take a photo of new babies in the family with the turkey platter at their first Thanksgiving so they can see the photos when they grow up, and have a connection to each other and the holiday (and the platter). Loot at this cutie, and these ones.
