Weird And Wacky June Holidays
Weird Holidays Are Great Excuses To Throw A Party - Let's Look At A Few That Take Place In June
Weird holidays, wacky observances and bizarre celebrations is what you're going to find in this lens and it's all going to be focused on one month in particular - June.
You'll definitely find a few of more well-known holidays here, but most of the lens will be dedicated to letting you know just how many odd, strange and eccentric holidays there really are in any given month.
It should also be noted that this won't be a comprehensive holiday list. I've included holidays that I think I would enjoy celebrating, whether they be weird, U.S. based or celebrated internationally. If you like celebrating offbeat holidays, then I think you'll enjoy this lens. Thanks for stopping by.

National Candy Month
There is no better way to celebrate this unusual observance than to go back in time and eat the candies you ate as a child. If you really want to experiment try getting older candies made before you were born. These also make wonderful gifts if you know someone that likes candy.
African-American Music Appreciateion Month - Also known as Black Music Month.
This monthly observance was created back on June 7, 1979 and put into law by Jimmy Carter.
I must say that I was a teenager before I began to discover the wonderful music produced by such singers as James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin and others, but once I heard them, they became a staple in my song collection. Ever since that time, I have been listening to and collecting all kinds of music from many different types of people. To the right are just a few of my favorite African-American vocalists.
National Doughnut Day - First Friday in June.
A good way to celebrate this bizarre holiday is by eating as many strange doughnuts as you possibly can. I'm game for that. Anyone else?
Father's Day - Every third Sunday in June.
Every dad wants the same thing on this day, I think, and that is to spend quality time with his family. I know that this day is associated with gifts, but giving him a gift without spending time with him will not get you on his good side.
I never bought anything expensive. There are a lot of good Father's Day gifts out there that don't cost too much, so finding one that he will appreciate shouldn't be too hard. If you can't afford a gift, then try going fishing or having a BBQ. The important things with dads is to bond. Be thankful you have a dad.
Donald Duck Day
June 9th
Donald Duck first made his cartoon debut way back on June 9, 1934 appearing in "The Wise Hen." You can celebrate one of Disney's most lovable characters by talking like him, watching some of his cartoons, wearing clothing in his honor or collecting a piece of artwork.

A Few Facts About Bald Eagles
The average lifespan of eagles in the wild is 20-30 years.
They mate for life.
Can reach diving speeds of up to 75-100 mph.
It takes several years before the young get the white feathers on the head.
Go Skateboarding Day - June 21st
This special holiday was founded by the International Association of Skateboard Companies (IASC) as a day for skateboarders all over the world to show their support for the widely popular activity. If you are a newbie, feel free to visit the numerous exhibitions, contests, fundraisers and even protests that will likely be going on all over the world. And if you're already into the ever-growing sport then you already know what to do. HAVE FUN, GO SKATEBOARDING!
National Catfish Day - June 25th
Although you can celebrate this weird holiday in other ways, I like to celebrate it by eating catfish.
