Write A Letter To Juliet For Valentine's Day
Heaven is here, where Juliet lives ~ William Shakespeare
If you saw the movie, 'Letters to Juliet', then you might be surprised to learn that you really can write a letter to Juliet. The Secretaries of Juliet really do exist and on Valentine's Day alone they receive more than 5,000 letters.
All year round they'll read letters from all over the world asking for advice about love and romance. And as long as you include your address you'll get an answer.
Juliet has been an enduring symbol of Love and, as Shakespeare said, "Heaven is here, where Juliet lives."
On Valentine's Day, Heaven is wherever your Romeo or Juliet lives. But if, for whatever reason, they don't happen to be living as close as you'd like, then maybe you should write a letter to Juliet and ask her advice!

The Juliet Club
For more than 70 years, Juliet's secretaries have been answering every letter that arrives with a return address. And those letters arrive from all over the world, in every imaginable language.
Some come via mail delivery, some come via email and many, many more are posted on Juliet's wall, left there as a testament to love.
Not all of the letters ask for advice or answers, but those that do are always answered. Some just want to pour their heart out to anyone who'll listen. Some letters are sad, some are celebratory. Some writers just want to make some kind of pilgrimage to Juliet's wall and leave a message of hope.
The 15 secretaries divide the letters based on the language and the advice the writer is looking for.

Juliet's Birthday
September 16 is the day that the city of Verona officially celebrate's Juliet's birthday. This date is attributed to the original novella about Romeo and Juliet, written by Luigi Da Porto (1531).
Da Porto was the first person to put in writing the true story of the star-crossed lovers. His story then inspired several other European writers and eventually Shakespeare took up his pen and wrote the version we all know and love.
"For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Juliet and her Romeo."
- William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet
