Be A Responsible Pet Owner
How To Take Care of Your Pets
Do you have a pet? Pets can instill a sense of well-being, and studies have shown that pet owners have lower blood pressure, are less likely to be depressed and have higher self-esteem than people who don't care for companion animals.
Celebrate what your pet brings you by learning more about being a Responsible Pet Owner and then spend time playing with and appreciating your companion!

Simple Tips To Protect Your Pets
National Pet Theft Awareness Day, February 14.
This important day is intended to increase public awareness of pet theft as well as everyday responsible pet care. Nearly two million companion animals are stolen each year. It is a tragedy that any pet owner should suffer the heartbreak of a stolen pet. There are simple steps pet owners can take to ensure the safety of their pets:
Keep your pets indoors when you are not home.
Ensure proper identification of your pet with a collar and I.D. tag and identification microchip. Keep pet licenses current and keep a current photo of pets on hand.
Keep your dogs on leashes when outside and keep your cats indoors.
Never leave an animal unattended in a vehicle.
Ensure that gates are padlocked and that your fences are high enough and secure.
If a pet is missing call the Humane Society. If you believe your pet has been stolen, do not delay in filing a theft report by calling 911. Pet thefts often occur in groups within the same neighborhoods, and prompt reporting will increase your odds of recovering your dog and preventing additional thefts.
Life is as dear to a mute creature as it is to man.
