What Exists is Now ( For April Poetry Month)

Updated on March 25, 2016
Source

Now is the Time

Now is the time to live fully,
Now is the time to thank all,
Now is the time to kiss hard,
Now is the time to love rich.

Yesterdays are all dead,
What we lived and gave,
How we laughed a laugh,
Smiles shone in the eyes.

Tomorrows are dreams,
That never exist really,
Will we be able to live ?
Will we be able to hug ?

All we know is now,
Before we know more,
See how the sun shines !
Awake to the breeze !

Now is the real life,
Sans illusion and faces,
That vanish in the mirror,
When we see not.

Hug this damsel now,
Close all doors behind,
Drink up the wine all,
Empty the cup.

Throw the past away,
Kick the dreams away,
Be in now's bosom,
Feel all heaven.

Now is truth,
The world throws lies,
Now is freedom,
What exists is now !

A strong case for living in the Sacrament of the Present Moment; The Eternal Now. That is all we ever have. So discerning, brother Harish. The Here and Now. Necessary and inspirational poem. Jai Ram!

Namaste, dear brother manatita. Your words " The Eternal Now. That is all we ever have " speak it all. Our disappointments, frustrations and ambivalence all either stem from the past or due to our wishful engagement with unseen tomorrow. I'm pleased that you liked this poem. Thanks a lot for such insightful comments and thus adding beautifully to this hub. Om Shanti ! !

      'wishful engagement with unseen tomorrow.'

Immaculate! You're touching my shores, Brother Harish. (smile). I would add 'an,' as this adds to its sublimity. Like:

'wishful engagement with an unseen tomorrow.'

Much Shanti and Ananda to you, my Friend.

That was lovely Harish. It is happening now because the future is science fiction - which I never believed. I voted up, shared and pinned it.
