Still

Updated on March 4, 2015
Source

In the moment of bequest
I gave you my words and with it my voice
now shadows quiver and silence severs,
and still I long to gather it all
to pleach the fragrance of memory in a wreath.

You are here no more
and still I long to hold you in my heart,
be held in the fathomless depth of your eyes
to live another life with you by my side
to die once more...
Still with you.

Smilealot- This is probably one of the shortest poems I ever wrote. The depth of emotion clearly surpassed my assemblage of words for this one. So glad you liked it.

I've never seen the word "pleach" used in a poem. Beautiful work, Sara!
