We Have Love,Why Drugs ?

Updated on June 27, 2013

There Is No Replacement

People all over the world take illegal drugs

For one simple reason

They are trying to escape

Into a world that does not exsist

If they took the time and looked a little deeper

They could have all the love

They needed right from the start

No need to settle for less

Find a friend instead

Who will talk to you when you have troubles

Pick you up when you are down

Are just great to be with when you want to chill

They take some work

Because friendships develop over time

It is a give and take

It costs nothing and it is no mistake

When you have one don't stop there

You have the beginning of something very special

Another friend may be near

Be honest and true to yourself

Friends know more than you think

They will lead you in the right direction

With only good intentions in mind

Fun is right around the corner

If it so happens your friend puts you in any trouble

Think again

Are they really a friend ?

It's time to search for a true friend

Who won't leave you alone out in the cold

Who wouldn't put you in harms way

Someone you can trust

They should treat you with respect and kindness

Friends by the millions are waiting to be found

The search is on.....

Friends, friends come out come out whereever you are

shanmarie Friends are all around us. If we reach out I am sure they can see us. Give it time. Friends also want to be careful. They want to be sure they have a good friend. Thank you for reading and sharing your comment. I want to thank you for being my friend.

Eiddwen I am sorry for your loss. There are so many people with the right friends might just think again. Why not let peer pressure do something good for a change.Convince each other we don't need any substance to lead us down a long road of pain and destruction. We are good just as we are with all our faults as long as we try to do better.Sharing our mistakes is one way of bonding with others and admitting we are far from great.I will start with I wish my life turned out better. Then in the same breath I will also say I tried my best.Luckily I have friends who who care and accept me for who I am.Thanx for reading and sharing one of my stoems .(story/poem) May your night turn out especially nice.

ladydeonne We all have hit hard times and have bad days. The secret is to make sure they don't last.To keep changing our life for the better.Friends do this best. They can make our days more exciting and our nights incredible.Sometimes they make us realize we have to look inward and be our own best friend first. They know we have so many good traits and stop at nothing to remind us.It is easy to get in a rut and it is so nice to have a friend pull us out.I know life is hard enough and why do it alone when you can have a friend help you and make new memorites that will change your life forever. When things are going well there is nothing like a friend to tell.Thanx so much for reading and commenting asking another friend to share the good news.

A beautiful and powerful message for those who are using drugs to cope. The answer is to look around and you will find what you are looking for...friendships, love, and unconditional acceptance. Voted up, awesome, and sharing.

Dim Flaxenwick I am very proud to say I have never taken any drugs.I am even hesitant to take perscription drugs.I know it's the only way to get better.I think drugs are just a way out and people are just looking for love.Friendships provide that love.Maybe people will think twice. We can only hope and pray for better days.Gypsy Rose Lee You summed it up perfectly "Friends are the greatest thing a person can have."I very much appreciate two very dear friends who have made such beautiful comments here today.I am blessed.

Friends are the greatest thing one person can have. I have a handful of very dear friends and I'm grateful for all of them. Was thrilled to have contacted with my high school friends again. I am especially happy about all the friends you included that I have made online. The best thing of all is that none of my friends are into drugs and I have never had any kind of contact with that kind of a world and for that I'm truly grateful too. However if at any time one of my friends would have the misfortune of getting addicted I would do whatever was in my power to help them through this.

Kathryn Stratford I look around and see and hear about more friends getting involved in drugs.I just don't get it.Maybe the pressures of life are too much. They want to hide away in their own little world. It only lasts a short time and when the drugs wear off you need more to go back to your secret place.Soon over time you have lost your mind.I really think this is a sign of such a greater problem.I ask where are your friends when you needed them most?I find out they turned away their friends and trusted the wrong people with their lives and now they have to suffer the consequences.I need less trouble and stress in my life and drugs certainly don't help me .It's my friends I turn to.Often friends will change and if they don't care about me I will have to find ones that do.The tough part is many drugs are started as a quick thrill and get way out of hand. The sad truth is you are the one that suffers the pain sometimes with your life.Thanx for reading and sharing your thoughts.DDE Life isn't wonderful and great at every moment..When the good times are here it's a great start. It is the only life I know and I will ride it out till the end of time.Friends make it easier and who knows maybe I can make their life better too.I think selfish people take drugs my mother said years ago if you don't have an icecream for all your friends it is not right to bring one out just for yourself.Drugs are done quietly and if you told everyone else what you were doing you would all agree it is just a bad idea.Thanx for sharing your insight and opinion it means alot .Have a great and beautiful day.

Some people choose to live in denial and taking drugs does just that for them. The minds keep them from knowing reality good one to think about.

This is a great message, and is very true. Friends are very beneficial to our health and well being, and don't have any negative side effects! I feel for those who have taken a path into the dangerous world of illegal drugs, or even overindulging on those which are meant to help them. It is hard to get away from them, once there's an addiction.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful poem with us, and have a wonderful day!
