What is it about a Butterfly in Spring...

That takes my Breath away?

Is it the way they spread their Wings,

As they delicately land on a Flower?

So careful not to ruin its Beauty,

As they Pollnate it around...and around.

If I were a Bird, I'd probably start to Sing.

Spring makes me feel so Alive...

I fall onto the grass and look up at the Sky,

And I'm a Kid again...I even think I can Fly!

Winter was much too long...such a Sad Song.

And then it's Spring and the Butterflies come along...

Bringing New Hope, for another New Beginning.

Making me feel I can do Anything...

Be Anyone... I choose to be.

But after thinking it through...

I still would choose... to be Me!

Why is it that everything that you post seems to be so great? I love this poem b.Malin. Not only do I love Spring but I also love butterflies. It was a perfect descritption of that feeling, specially when you described the feeling of being a child again and feeling that you can fly, while lying on the grass...My favorite for sure...

Alas, we don't get many butterflies here in Los Angeles. So it's good to see them in your poem. Voting this Up and Beautiful.

I love butterflies as you know - since I made this my year of the butterfly back in Jan! I love your poem, I'm afraid in recent years it seems the population has declined around the MD/DC/VA area - but probably because they are looking for more beautiful places to go. Can't say I blame them! Voted you up and beautiful!

Sorry Sally, I Love Spring, but that's what usually happens "Right into Summer We Go"! And one less Lawyer is Always a good thing! Thanks for stopping by and all your thoughts as well.

Butterflies are truly magical! Their colors, patterns, fluttering . . . Milkweed is great for attracting butterflies. On a cruise once, I stopped in the Bahamas. One of the "tours" was to a butterfly farm -- owned by an American who grew tired of practicing law. Smart man! We have gone from spring right into summer here!

Thank you Shy Girl, I sometimes think when a Butterfly follows me around, that it is a Message from my Mom. She's been gone along time, so I found it comforting. So glad you liked this one.

Wow, CP, thank you for your lovely compliments, always means a lot when a fellow Hubber gives them...glad I could send a little Spring your way.

I think I have a Bush that attracts Humming Birds...It's a real treat to see Breakfastpops...And on the side of my house, one that attracts Butterflies!

I've tried to text the Monarchs to tell them not to hurry back...they'd be sorely disappointed. The weather here has been wet and chilly and the perfect excuse to spike the coffee. I'll share with the butterflies should they arrive soon, but I'm afraid they'll fly a little funny afterward!

Your lovely poem is as close to Spring as I have gotten so far, and I do thank you for it.

      Cheers! :{)

Butterflies are in the air today it seems. In about a month, we will have an abundance of them here on the farm.

      Beautiful my friend.

I enjoyed this . . . The weather is still so "crappy" here that I feel like a little kid waiting for that special holiday to finally arrive. According to the forecast, it'll still be another week at least.

Spring, just the thing after a long cold winter! You are right,I always feel renewed as well. Butterflies are the essence of the freedom of abandoning our heavy winter clothes...I always feel so light...almost like a butterfly... a really big :)
