A Brief Embrace
Kiss me
She said.
With nothing more than a bashful smile,
and a tilt of the head
The curve of our interlocked hands gave me a place to melt
While I quickly gathered all-but-sturdy materials to prop my lips against hers
A gasp-like inhale reeled in the fodder for me to launch nonsense words at the imaginary social gap between now and the next time we pressed
She smiled,
Quietly and contagiously,
Glancing up just to catch gazes and then look away.
I pulled back, exuding playful confidence while her next move fell barely short of touch
Giving me a moment to trace the curve of her hips with excited, slow-moving hands.
A gentle pull of my fingers on her lower back lulled her into a state of softened balance
And I let her bottom lip catch mine, pull my face up, and my chest close
the lustful movement of my arms dissipating the space between us
As we lifted.
I wonder if I should have asked her name
