A Collection of Nature Haikus

Updated on June 2, 2013

Wind

The wind blows and blows

I am nearly knocked over

As I run with it.

Source

Water

The way water flows

Is quite mystical to see.

Watch and understand.

Earth

As rain falls on it

Its color varies slightly

And so nourishes

Source

Fire

The flame licks at me

I watch for a moment, then

I pull back and shout.

Source

Winter

Have you ever walked

Through both the snow and the wind

While the sun shone down?

Tree

I will never see

Anything that bests a tree

But perhaps a saw

Leaves

Twisting and falling

Covering the soft fall ground

Green, yellow and red.

Predator

Lithe, graceful movement

Silently tracking their prey

The hunt has begun

Thank you, whonu. I love the form of haiku, and how the number of syllables, if done correctly, don't jut out and smack you in the face. Haha. Glad you enjoyed them.

Nice work and I always enjoy the challenge of a good Haiku. whonu
