A Few Things I Am Thankful For
A portion of an innumerable list still forming....
it seems good every now and then to count a few of the things I am truly grateful for. (And by the way, doing so is actually a healthy activity, not just good for the soul, but for all the rest of what we are, too.)
I am grateful that my mortal life is not over, yet.
I am grateful that I have friends who love me inspite of myself.
I am grateful that I still have a few more hours of today.
I am grateful for plants and pets and people.
I am grateful for the ability to read and to write.
I am grateful for mail and email and the worldwide web.
I am grateful for modern transportation.
I am grateful for the ability to walk and observe.
I am grateful for rest at night, and challenges by day.
I am grateful for enough to eat and enough to share.
I am grateful for pure water to drink, and to bathe in, and to cook with.
I am grateful for the education I have had, and continue to have.
I am grateful for my senses and what they contribute to each day.
I am grateful for family and its responsibilities and love.
I am grateful for ancestors and what they have meant to who I am becoming.
I am grateful for work that is satisfying and sometimes rewarding.
I am grateful for the seasons, the sunrises, and the sunsets, the moon and the stars.
I am grateful for a loving God who challenges me to be my best.
I am grateful for the Son of God who knows me better than I know myself.
I am grateful to be free, with the right to express myself.
I am grateful for all those who make my life safer and as orderly as it is.
I am grateful to be able to share these thoughts with you, knowing that some of these same things I am grateful for, may be things you are grateful for, too.
