shared symbolism,

a truant's toll paid

upon the dimmest of days

creased in paper,

pressed close

upon dead languages

nailed upon door.

an icon

shivering with

its desire to know.

it beckons.

I often write in a free flow without stopping to filter or think or correct. This is the product of one such writing session. I will be the first one to say that I am not sure what it means.

I enjoy reading poems like this where the meaning isn't immediately obvious. The phrases in the poem are very interesting, and the poem as a whole provides a wonderful opportunity for readers to interpret its meaning in their own way.

Free writing is always a lovely rambling path. You have left the meaning to the reader's own. I like it.

Audrey, creation is wonderful till the creator withholds it's subtle nature. The child is silent till it doesn't understand and one who understands what it is all about keeps silent. I think hidden things are great ! Poetry is mostly about something found and told and each guy interprets that in his/her own way. Audrey, a great poem and I love your candid admission !

Audrey ,for me , The fun of writing is often to hide the true meaning in an often vague beauty of ideas ,of fantasies and dreams. you have a gift please don't hide it ! .....:-]
