A Haiku - Carefulness

Updated on January 26, 2012

Are you full of caring?

Carefulness is a constant vigil.
Carefulness is a constant vigil. | Source

Why be careful?

How much we care now!

But are we really care-full?

Care to care deeply.

Measuring our caring....

Can you think of a time today when you could have cared more deeply about another person?

Nice piece. Is there such a thing as caring to a fault? Striving for unconditional compassion is a good thing, some need to care more, at least based on our own emotional reflections, and some care to such an extent they become ill. Then, there are those who choose not to care at all. Definitely a good piece because you have me thinking on your subject! Thank you.

To all who read, and commented, and cared: Please accept my apology that it has taken my editing three years later to read your comments and reply.

We can all fall short on caring. Some days we will do better than on other days. The comparing of caring with compassion was appropriate, and we can all use more of that. There would be fewer children in jail with long jail sentences (30-40 years, even life imprisonment) if society had more compassion and mercy, more caring; and the same goes for wars and their consequences.

      We can do better.
