A Haiku - Gratitude

Updated on February 21, 2015

What deserves my gratitude?

The attitude of gratitude is appreciation expressed.

And today I'm grateful for....

Grateful for my life.

Short or long no matter what.

Filled with love and such.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~~ ~ ~ ~ ~

If it is longer.

So much the better and fine.

I'll be grateful, sure.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~~ ~ ~ ~ ~

For memories past,

Each season, test, trial o'ercome,

A new day dawned clear.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Not all alone here.

Then or now, companions dear,

Precious, kind to boot.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Pets, vistas, storms, sun,

Each memory now sublime,

Filled in the seasons.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~~ ~ ~ ~ ~

No doubt, my reasons

Expressed in gratitude now.

God blest, each day ours..

Yes, being grateful as the year ends and another new year begins, that is a wonderful way to wind up the year.

I believe that obedience to the commandments is how we are expected to truly express our gratitude.

Just realizing that your life is not governed by the unreasonable expectations and demands of others is a tremendous awareness to be grateful for!

Now be careful to not have unreasonable expectations and make unreasonable demands of yourself.

I believe God wishes us to have lives of abundant joy while keeping His commandments which, by keeping them, can help insure that we may live such lives.

      Go for it!

I am learning to be grateful Demas. It is much easier to do so now that I am less concerned about the expectations and unreasonable demands of others. Now I have enough TIME to take the time to be grateful (or greatful :-))

Cheers for this lovely haiku-one of your many talented styles of writing.

As of 8/15/2015 this Hub has been viewed 637 times, and the polling question had had 15 responses. Have you been grateful for your blessings and challenges today?

Of all my Haiku, this has been responded to the most of any for which I attached a poll question. Nine out of ten responders said they had found the time to be thanksful prior to reading the Hub, and one of the ten said not until they had read it. May we all be truly thankful now and always for all our wonderful blessings.
