Destiny
A Leaf Tells All
When I watch a leaf,
My mind wonders at her life,
How perched happily she was,
on the very supportive branch.
Dark green and very beautiful,
So strong to face the storms,
And how cheerful countenance !
She always smiled with the winds.
The Sun joyfully shined on her,
Each ray entered her soul,
She waved and danced,
Her friends teased her.
She loved to see the spring,
Her face brightened up more,
Down was such rainbow of colors,
She felt her life is such a joy !
Not aware of the summer,
She laughed day in and day out,
She trembled to face the heat,
And her face turned so hot.
When clouds appeared above,
She danced so fast with joy,
When rains washed her face,
The moments cheered her soul.
She was so relaxed after,
But shivering was in waiting,
She was scared in the cold,
She cursed her existence.
Why these ups and downs ?
Why not springs and rains ever ?
I hate this scorching heat !
This cruel and hard winter !
She thought of cool breezes,
So enchanting smell of soil !
Bathing carefree in the rains,
Oh ! life was so blissful !
Now she is dark, dull and pale,
And her grip is going weaker,
Afraid she would fall off any day,
She waited and prayed hard.
But the inevitable came in time,
Soon, the Autumn saw her,
Both were destined to meet,
One to pack up, other to take along.
The same winds were so harsh,
She couldn't resist much,
And the Autumn fell on her,
She was torn apart and swept away.
She lay still on the ground,
To be thrashed by the winds,
To be trampled upon under the feet,
And to be merged into the soil.
She wondered about life !
She thought of afterlife,
Perhaps at some other point,
Destiny would again make her a leaf !
