A Lesson On Life
Food for thought
A little bird sat in a sycamore tree
And thought and thought what it would like to be
I wish I wish I were not me
it spotted a mouse as it made its way
through blades of grass
It's tiny head turning left and right as it
foraged for food it scurried about its tiny ears
perked at a sound
As the bird watched the black snake slithered
and with rapid speed struck out and swallowed the
mouse
The little bird in the sycamore tree
thought and thought A snake I'd rather be
as it chirped in glee
the snake you see had swallowed the mouse in one great gulp
and slithered away without a thought
Deep in the underbrush a Mongoose
watched as the snake made its way
close to where it sat
Quietly crawling on agile limbs it waited ever so patiently.
the snake had not a chance as pounce the Mongoose did.
it's sharp teeth going deep
I wish I wish a Mongoose I could be
it ate the snake that ate the rat and as it sat
consuming its catch
A tiger approached and the Mongoose was no more.
As the little bird sat in the tree it thought and thought
I know what I'd rather be I'll be a bird and fly high above the tree
just as happy as can be
