A Little Tuna Left In The Bowl

Updated on March 29, 2017

I Couldn't Wait

I had to eat it as is

It took too long to get the bread

Reach for a fork

I got a spoon and started to eat

One mouthful then another

I even used a flexible rubber hand cake frosting spreader

Lack of a better name

To scoop around the edges the spoon couldn't reach

Cravings are funny things

When you mind wants them

It finds ways to fulfill it's desire

It maybe be a little thing

Have you ever done what I did ?

Now my stomach full

I get a yogurt for dessertI try to eat some what healthy

Having fruit and vegetables when possible

Sweet snacks are always tempting

Chips and popcorn I could eat all day

So I get something to fill that empty space

I will have salty and sugary snacks off and on

The more I eat better choices

I think I would forget about those other options

Not entirely true

For me at least

I am a juice lover

I have heard all that sugar isn't good for you

So I have changed to flavored water

Better than tonic, soda and in other parts of the country they say pop

I wonder if we if we can have different words for vegetables too

To describe those amazing veggies

Nutritious sticks, healthy bits

I wonder if you can think of a better name

Maybe if rename all the healthy foods

If desirable, interesting names

We would be craving them more

Just a thought

One of many that continues to flow

A constant source of information

That will take me from point A to point B

One that excites my inner being

I plan to translate those feelings

In to a whole new vocabulary

That I can refer to when I am under the weather

To perk me up like a great big Spruce

Where I can look up to the open skies

Not down upon me and the world that cries

I am hooked on a feeling

It is not going to stop

It's only going to get stronger every day

This is where I feel my energy

Not in being bored and dull

My wife is the first to say I have lost all my senses

You better get checked out

It's not right to get excited about such little things

I say why not

Just because nobody else does

It doesn't mean it's not right

People find thousands of ways to be sad and unhappy

Is that right ?

To teach young children about life

Time for a change

Change for the better

My phone is ringing

It's my wife

Got to go

Talk more later

Please let me know your thoughts ?

Two views hardly make up a good decision

Any plans for today ?

Whatever you decide to do

Make it a happy one for you

Shyron E Shenko I love your verses. You make me want to open a can right now. When I was younger I would eat half the can just by taking chunk after chunk while I was making tuna to eat. I also love the to toast my bread and add tomatoes, pickle, onion, celery. Oh so good. Thank you for reading and sharing.

Dream On, I love tuna in a salad in a sandwich, or right from a can

I love tuna anytime so I keep a lot on hand

I also love the sweets but I know that they are bad

And I will not ever tell how many sweets I've had

      Blessings my friend

You made me think about tuna. When I lived in the states I loved tuna on sandwiches, in casseroles I was a happy camper. Here we cannot get normal canned tuna and it is expensive. I miss tuna.

Sugar doesn't help me at all, and yes, cravings are funny things. As long as you stay joyful, Bro. Cool!

"Cravings are funny things." How true! I may not think about it for weeks, then see it on an ad or hear its name and the craving takes over. A little satisfaction now and then doesn't mean that I've lost control.

John Hansen I could eat ice cream by the bowl and brownies by the tray. I eat celery and carots a lot. Prunes are good for the bowels and string beans for a snack. Lots of water will hold me over till meal time. Same here if my wife buys the junk food I will eat it. Thank you for reading and sharing.

This was an enjoyable read, Dream On. I agree they should change the name of healthy foods to make them sound more enticing. I love savoury snacks like chips and popcorn but if we don't have them in the house I am fine and don't really miss them.
