A Loving Spouse

Updated on September 19, 2009

A Loving Spouse by Tracy

This is why I know that you love me so

The way you look at me when we are holding hands

The way you touch my face so gently and so sweet

The way that your eyes sparkle when ever our eyes meet

You hold the door for me and let me enter first

You buy me something coldĀ to drink so I can quench my thirst

You never yell at me or call me ugly names

You would rather make me laugh or play some funny game

You go to church with me because we love the Lord

And you don't sit there pouting as if you're really bored

We do things with our families on every holiday

Because they are important each and every day

You never raise a hand to me

You never make me cry

You cherish every moment and in return so do I

I am so thankful that I met you and fell in love with you

And all these things you do for me

Let me know our love is true

Very nice to read about other wonderful relationships that have lasted. We just celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary and I can truthfully say that my husband is also my best friend. Sweet poem to your beloved spouse.

thank you Donna I'm glad you enjoyed it. I hope it might help someone who is confused about what true love is. And if I can get just one woman out of being abused then I've accomplished something good.

I agree and with respect and kindness towarda each other I think it makes your relationship stronger. You learn to trust that person with everything and your emotions and then you can truly be as one
