A Mouse's Journey to the Unknown
from whence it came
a mouse's sudden rise to fame
for only days before
he was sitting comfortable at the pet store
and then a tall man came his way
only to speak a few words and say
"I want that one there" he told the store clerk
saying it with such impatience he seemed like a jerk
but the mouse was pleased to hear
that he had a new home, he even shed one tear
when he was free from his cage of metal wire
he had an overwhelming sense his time would soon expire
for the man did not want the mouse for a pet
a choice he would soon regret
he wanted the mouse for something much deeper
for a thrill so much quicker and cheaper
than working hard for it
and the man believed his money was well spent
so the man took the little mouse home with him
to a small house where he always kept the lights dim
he sat the little mouse down on the bed
covered with a silky red bedspread
because he knew he must prepare
for this evenings affair
then the man left the room
leaving the little mouse to assume
the man was preparing his new home
with plenty of space to play and roam
but when the man didn't come back
the little mouse felt like he might have a panic attack
finally the man walked into the room
carrying a bottle and a broom
the mouse was so confused he didn't know what to do
did this man bring him here to prepare for his doom
in a state of panic, the mouse only knew
one minute he was in his cage, and the next he was in a black hole
it was so dark he didn't know where to go
and soon he was unable to breathe
while struggling with the inability to leave
and soon the mouse's short life ended
with a confusion that left him offended
little did he know, though
what he thought was a big black hole
was indeed a place you never would want to go
unless you were the man's boyfriend, named Joe!
