"A New World" (A Poetic Dialogue)
"You're an embarrassment to us all.
A poor example of the human society,
in this vast and ever-growing world.
Why can't you just conform?
You just have to be difficult don't you?
You have to do everything the hard way.
Don't you see that what I'm offering,
is brand new life, to be reborn?
It doesn't get any better than this.
This is the way it is.
Stop trying to be a hero
and join me in my creation.
Nothing can stop it now!
The virus has already spread.
Its worldwide and soon all the ingrates,
the murderers, the thieves, will be gone.
The sick, the old, the weak,
will be made strong.
You will have eternal life,
Immortality."
"No! You're wrong.
You disgust me.
What you've created is a monstrosity.
Evil rampages this city, infection.
You say the murderers will be gone,
then why do they eat each other for sustenance?
They kill the good for food,
innocent people, people of substance.
And where are you?
Sitting high and mighty on your bloody throne.
Do you not see what you've done?
I know a zombie when I see one.
The walking,
living dead.
And I say to you they are not immortal,
they can be stopped,
with a bullet to the head!"
Bang! I shot my gun,
just a bit to scare him.
"A minor set back, that can all be fixed.
An experiment gone awry.
This was never my intention."
"No, but you still want to take away our free will, to control us,
take away the freedom of our mind."
"I so thought you were better than this."
"Oh, believe me. I am.
And this time, I won't miss."
Bang!
