A Poem For the Beautiful
I see you sitting across from me;
I can not see the scars and the bruises,
But the look on your face tells me they are there.
Your eyes bear the burden no one should bear.
You are beautiful to me.
I wish I could be the one
To help you understand.
I see you sitting across from me;
Your scarf wrapped around your head.
Something has been taken from you,
Yet you fight like never before.
You are beautiful to me.
I wish I could be the one
To help you understand.
I see you setting across from me,
Your wisdom is to be admired.
A culture of youth may have pushed you aside;
You are beautiful to me.
I wish I could be the one
To help you understand.
