A Poem: Love lost's Silver Lining. Even an ended Love should bring a smile.
From the biggest storms come the most wonderful flowers
Acceptance
Loves' lost silver lining sounds so sad. But the sun must set to make another day, and clouds must move on to bring rain to another place. So I reckon I wrote this bittersweet poem because from time to time I have regrets. But if I would have one thing right that I did wrong, I would not be here today with a fantastic life. Especially if you have children that you admire and adore, you just have to look back and say “thank God, for those errors”. But that is not what this poem means to me, what it really reminds me of, is any circumstance that I am in, is exactly the way it is supposed to be.
Life so full of promise and adventure
When I was a young strapping man
I took my wife with me to a strange new land
Promises of all that we had dreamed
Off the blue Pacific they gleamed
We were two that should not have won
We were two made for work in the sun
Instead now what stood before eyes
Was milk and honey and starlit skies
I grew up down by the railroad track
She grew up with a father that she lacked
We were supposed to stay and slave
But we could not in that way behave
An Ocean seems to stay the same, but not at all really
The only thing that stays the same is change
So we got me into grad school and her a job waiting
Times were so tough yet all the best
We aimed for a star above the rest
Success came and it was sweet
But success does not our needs meet
A house on the shore of the great pacific
3 children that were just terrific
But need I tell you all the sadness
Caused by success is also madness
So we broke our wonderful home
Her to take care and me to roam
There seem to be reasons for many things that we just don't get
Some Love is not meant to stay the same, or even last. But some moments of Love last a lifetime.
Silver endings
Oh how I wept and wished what could have been
But through love our three children were still raised right
Their lives have all taken flight
And she and I long mended our ways
Now we toast to happier days
But a strange thing happen along with time
I have a new love whose heart is with mine
Now ten years later we share amor
And have a son we so adore.
So I tell you true my friend
Do not give up until the end.
Life is a spiral whirling all around
It is your job, happiness to be found
Such sadness and dashed hope and humility
Is just a route to tranquility.
