A Poem: The day I cheated...

Every day I would wake up to you

Day after day, week after week, year after year

I know you are all I require

You meet my every need

So why?

In you I have my fill

When we connect I feel your warmth within

My friends don't understand what we experience together

The fulfillment I get in you

So why?

It was just one slip, one mistake

It was just too tempting for my weakness

I was powerless to resist

Especially when it was right before my eyes

But why?

I wanted to be faithful to you

My flesh was weak, my will power fragile,

But it felt so good for a moment in time

I truly hope the damage is not too great

So why?

It was only yesterday

Today we were reunited

Tomorrow I recommit to you daily

My darling oatmeal

I will never cheat on you with bacon and eggs again.
