A Poem to Dad

Updated on June 8, 2016

A Poem To Dad

Dad you were there for me,

you taught me well.

When I first rode my bike,

you picked me up when I fell.

When I was little,

I always asked why,

no matter how many times

you always replied.

As I grew up,

you helped guide my way.

Through life's obstacles,

I encountered every day.

I just want you to know dad,

your love made me strong.

you taught me in life,

what is right,

and what is wrong.

Thank you Dad,

for all that you've done.

I love you Dad,

Sincerely,

Your son.

Thank you. I love to write, mainly poetry, but sometimes I write deep dark mystery. I look forward to reading your work too.

Thank you ologinquito. This is true, since many children do not have father figures in their life. Thanks for reading.

This is a nice tribute to a father. Children today are fortunate to have a father or a father figure involved in their lives, and it's certainly not something to take for granted.

Thank you addingsense. Being a father is not only an enormous responsibility, but a gift to our children as well. So many children do not have a father figure in their life. This is so sad.

No joke! There is good money to be made writing for the greetings card industry whenever your talented scribbles carry you their way. Why not?

Thank you Perspycacious and DDE. Maybe I should look into writing for Hallmark Greeting Cards. This poem would be a great poem to put in a Father's Day care of Dad birthday card. lol
