A Rain That Does Not Stop

Updated on May 25, 2017

I See What Beauty Grows

From the wonderful rain

Colorful flowers bloom

It is as if nature knows

The trees and the grass need water

A light shower or a heavy rain comes

To feed the plants of the world

Rivers and lakes are filled

The ocean is also replentished

Then again if it keeps raining

Then all the beauty will stop

Floods and problems will arise

For everything in life needs a balance

We need water every day to survive

The rain is pounding on my roof

As I speak

I am safe and dry

After a long drought

Many people wonder and wait

How long can we go without

Water

In every grocery store you see an isle of filled with water

From big jugs to small bottles in cases

Reminding us how important it is

Good drinking water is a must

We also use water for many other things

From the dirty dishes in the sink

To all our toilets that need to flush

Think of our dirty clothes with no water to wash

I love a beautiful shower

To take away the dirt and make me clean once again

All the car washes that makes our cars sparkle

As I listen to the rain

I say I am so glad to see you

At the same time

I am glad to see you go away

I guess I will never be happy

More wishy washy

On this dark and gloomy day

Very interesting poem on rain! It's unique and I like it very much! It reminds me of the short essay I wrote about Overcast and Gloomy Days. I wonder if it is raining where you are at, or if this is written from memory of a last rain...

Nice! You paint some great pictures. Good that some never take things for granted. God's Grace is not only bounteous but amazing! Great Hub!

Tamara Moore I do a lot of things from memory but this time it has been raining light showers yesterday to heavy rains all night. I love the sound of rain and all I want to do is stay in bed.It hypnotizes me. I feel so sleepy. Thank you for reading and commenting. I will check out your hub. I never know when I am going to write and about what subject my life is an open canvas. I get to paint all the pictures with words. I let people draw their own pictures. Some true. Some start off true and have an ending I wish had happened. Other stories are totally fictional as if someone was whispering the story softly in my ear. I have an old computer and printer and both act up from time to time. Then it's me against the mechanical devices. They usually win. How about you? Do any of these things happen to you?

Water is a gold resource. A little water is beautiful and fragrant to the soul. Too much water and we have floods, chaos and destruction. Not enough water, our bodies die. Thankyou for reminding us about this beautiful resource of ours.

Athlete Keys There is nothing I like better than a cold glass of water when I am thirsty. When I played out in the yard and I am covered in dirt I can't wait to hop into a nice hot shower. When it rains real hard I like walking in puddles and stomping my feet. Until my wife catches me and tells me aren't you a little old to be doing that. Maybe but it still brings back a ocean full of good memories. Thank you for reading and sharing. Have a rainy, wet day. One or two is fun. After that I say bring out the sun.

An awesome poem with powerful emotions! I felt your feelings while reflected on recent rains here in Southern California much needed in contrast to a friend in Sweden with too much rain. Rain definitely impacts us as your creative poem shares with us. Thanks for sharing and hoping soon there are rays streaming from Mr. Sunshine.

"I say I am so glad to see you / At the same time /I am glad to see you go away." Conflicting feelings like this make us happy that it is not our responsibility to send rain. We're better off appreciating it the way you do.

Ms Dora You always make me feel good. Making the best of all kinds of weather all during the year. In moderation makes everyone happiest. Thank you for reading and have a lovely weekend.

Our garden badly needs a good rainfall. We haven't had a good rain in a long time and the weather is getting warmer all the time.

Gypsy Rose Lee It has been raining all week here. Hopefully you have got some rain too.Even though only in the 50's usually in the 70's and 80's. Weather is unpredictable. I love the rain. So peaceful and relaxing. Thank you for reading and sharing. It took me along time to make the comments some computer trouble on my end.
