A Simple Portrait of My Emotions
If I could paint a picture with my emotions, I would start with the color blue.
The blue would be the sadness that I can’t seem to shake.
I would add a hint of black.
The black would be the negative feelings that I have towards myself and my outlook of the world.
Then I would be bold and add a splash of red to give it more character.
The red would be my anger that I have a hard time controlling.
It couldn’t hurt to add yellow highlights.
The yellow would be the happier and more hyper moments that I experience. The ones that would cause me to get into trouble.
Maybe a few streaks of white here and there, but not too many.
The white is the medications that I take for my temporary stability.
When all of the colors are combined and the picture is complete, I am looking at a reflection of myself attempting to fight the manifestation of a mixed bipolar episode.
