A Single Word

Updated on October 28, 2012

A single word from the Word can tell a lengthy tale.

Through divine revelation our voyage has set sail.

The words of God form a bridge that spans a man's whole life.

And, if one seeks to know truth, it cuts as if a knife.

But, the wounds it does inflict cut only at the sin.

Through healing love, Jesus came to save us from within.

Our armour grows with each word and Satan loses ground.

For no more are we lost; God's chosen are now found.

      Howdy Mitch; This is a beautiful poem and absolutely true. Only a Word can change our eternal destinies as well as our lives in time. I am a fairly new hubber. I will just have to get around the hubisphere a little more (smile). There is so many wonderful expressions magnifying God as one spirit.

      When God clearly speaks these words of only purity;

      "The Lord looks down from heaven at us humans

      to see if there are any who are wise,

      any who worship him.

      But they have all gone wrong;

      they are all equally bad.

      Not one of them does what is right,

      not a single one. {Psalms 14:2-3}

      Not one believer believes God, but rather man who God warns to put no confidence in.

      So how can an entire world of believers be told how they have been misled?

      As human beings we cannot do what only God can do; and in His time all will come to know truth; but after they have gone through the beginning of sorrows and tribulation without His mercy because they all rejected His truth with instruction.

      Saul in 1 Samuel 15:24-26 rejected what God commanded; therefore it was written as a lesson to all believers that reject what God directs while choosing their own ways such as pagan holidays, doctrines and traditions of man worldwide.

      Mitch, You said it all in few words. I can describe it in one: SAGACIOUS! Good work.

      Mitch - Have you ever noticed that many people don't hear God when he speaks to them? Or maybe they just want to ignore him.
