A Street Light Named Inspire
I Close My Eyes
I picture me there
Standing on a street side walk
Staring at the rain glare
As I ponder why I am here
The night is dark
The rain is wet
I look at all the cars
That are parked so near
I close my eyes
As they are wide open here
A rainy street corner
With a street light that shines clear
Do not be afraid of the dark
Mothers voice echos like a hawk
The dialoug in my mind grows fierce
Contemplating Moms advice
I continue to berate
Darkeness is negativity
I ruminate
I close my eyes
As they are wide open here
Illuminated by a street light that is there to inspire
As I reflect upon the light that I so admire
Thinking of the cat with nine lives
I analyze
Most of my prances, creatve dances
Hoping to get recognized
Still betting on chances
I close my eyes
As they are wide open here
Dancing in the rain, in the dark
By the light so clear
A street light named inspired
No more do I fear
