A Tale For Timmy
This article was written in 2015
Once upon a time Timmy, up until around 2030 we had male presidents running our country. Hard to believe I know but it actually happened. It all began with a man named George Washington. He was called the father of our country and in fact was a pretty good president so we've been told, but history has a way of cleaning itself up over long periods of time.
Unfortunately George Washington was our first and last good president until our country found it necessary to finally elect a woman to the White house. Since that fateful day we've enjoyed peace and prosperity. Over the last forty years women have made having a man in the oval office obsolete and actually the very thought of having a male president again after all these years is quite scary.
Over two hundred years of war, poverty and high taxes, that’s what I remember growing up with as a child. That’s the price of freedom we were told by our mostly male politicians. Now we know better. Why did it take us so long to figure things out? Well Timmy, at that time men pretty much ran the show. Women were thought to be unable to make critical decisions.
There was even a time when women weren't even able to vote for a president let alone be one. Yes Timmy those were tough times. Maybe they were necessary to enable us to gradually grow and to become a more stable and tolerant nation. To be less fearful and paranoid of other nations and more broadminded when dealing with them.
We’ve learned over time that a woman’s understanding and intrinsic instincts are a huge plus when it comes to having the power to run a country. Who was the last man to be president of our country? Timmy, hasn't your tutor taught you about our presidents?
Barack Obama was his name. He went down in history as being our first black president. He was ridiculed and criticized throughout the two terms of his presidency. We no longer stoop to those tactics to win an election. Maybe it’s because we've done away with the old two party system.
Well Timmy they were called the Democratic and Republican parties. Because they always wanted their candidate to be elected into office they were always at odds with each other so nothing positive ever got done. Yes you're right Timmy, it was a stupid idea but at that time men were in charge and that’s the way they wanted it. Women changed everything so that now you and your children and your children’s children can live happily ever after.
A Fable but, it could happen.
